Jim Harbaugh to serve a school-imposed 3-game suspension. He’ll miss East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green.

I think its a great move by U-M.
It sounds like something the Michigan legal department came up with. It takes the teeth out of any proposed punishment handed down by the NCAA, and puts Michigan in a position to sue the NCAA if they get too heavy handed over all this. And it has the added benefit of making the NCAA look even stupider.
If they hold Harbaugh out 3 games this season, what is the NCAA going to do? Make him sit the first three games next year too? Over a cheeseburger?
This all boils down to forcing Harbaugh to apologize and/or admit he was wrong. That's the pound of flesh that the NCAA wants to soothe their egos. They want Harbaugh in front of cameras and microphones, looking all broken and contrite, and a slight tear forming in his eye, and begging for forgiveness for the evil he committed against the NCAA. It ain't happening.
If he has the year that a lot of folks are predicting, the most likely won't be coaching here in '24 anyway."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

Notice he didn’t go along with any AD bullshit statement. He’s doing his own thing as he should. Harbaugh isn’t gonna put up with his employer not having his back forever.
I think this very well might be his last season at Michigan and I won’t blame him if he goes back to the NFL. Our floor is an 11-1 regular season. He’ll be able to name his price come January.

Yeah, I'm getting that feeling as well. We'll have a new HC next season.
I think he originally intended to remain at Michigan until he was done with coaching, but several events including this one have probably changed his mind."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

Michigan did not have Harbaugh back on this, he didn't agree on self-imposed infractions. Told the team he was informed he would be suspended (along with Sheronne Moore). This is as bad as Stretchgate, even worse really. But Michigan has a great team this year, Harbaugh will be gone after this year, so enjoy it.
The NCAA in (most) if not all cases will hit Michigan with harsher penalties next year. Warde giving him the suspension still in fear of the NCAA - like they have power or something? While everybody else tells the NCAA to fuck off, if you come after us we are taking you to court, then they back off.
