If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

    • The repeal of the RTW law in Michigan did not include federal workers, or workers in the transportation industries. I work for a union shop on my bus job (yes, I'm a member of Teamsters) and we were told that non-members will NOT be forced to join the union. I think they should at least be fee payers, but I don't make the law.

I agree with you on being fee payers, but that would be up to the union and that policy might change a few years down the road.

The union has to represent everyone, even those who choose not to join. When I worked at the phone company, non-members had to be fee payers, which meant they paid an amount equal to union dues, but the money taken from them had to be placed in a special fund that the Union used only for administrative matters, and not political contributions.

At my current job, non-members aren't even fee payers. But Teamsters still has to represent them in grievances if they want to file one. It sucks, because they get all the benefits of membership minus voting.

So the termination here sounds legal to me...but M better be careful because if they do not apply the same standards they could leave themselves open to civil litigation...maybe Talent could expound on that more. Michigan is a state in the Great Lakes region of the upper Midwestern United States. It has land borders with Wisconsin to the southwest, and Indiana and Ohio to the south, and Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie also connect it to the states of Minnesota and Illinois, and the Canadian province of Ontario.
