At this point, I’d rather not waste any of my Christmas break watching this team get embarrassed at Ford Field or at a half empty stadium in a town that hasn’t been noteworthy since the Civil War. Just get all of the suckage out of the system. Call out what went wrong and FIX THEM. We put up with 7 years of RRod/Hoke mediocrity. Not again.

Jeff, I initially planned to travel to Champagne for this game before the season. Then as it became clear that we sucked, decided against it.
The only reason I thought we’d win was because “well of COURSE, if I changed my mind…”. I put 0 thought into my 38-17 prediction. It was just for fun in an attempt ti be positive. As it turns out, putting your time and money on the line creates clarity of thought.
I’ve been pretty vocal since halftime of the Texas game that the goal for this team is bowl eligibility. That’s in grave danger now. We might have a worse QB situation than Sheridan/Threet in 2008.

It might be best to have them lose to Sparty this week, just so a "bowl game" is off the table. As Tom said, why would we want to see this team in a 13th game, that only leads to an embarrassing loss to a MAC or military academy? Just get it over with.
It might be different if this was just a young team, with lots of potential, but just barely missing out on wins. But this team is just bad, and State Street is headed back to hibernate mode and will live with the current situation as long as the turnstiles at the stadium click 100,000 times each weekend. And there's no young upcoming (and winning) coach who will come here and save us this time. With Harbaugh gone, there is nobody else out there.
Remember, even Nick Saban said "F this, I'm getting out". There was none better than him.
So giddy days for the haters.
If they are not already Lions fans, Michigan fans should get behind the Lions, and put your Michigan loyalties on hold. Maybe in about 10 years, someone on State Street will get tired of Michigan being pushed around .... again.Last edited by lineygoblue; October 20, 2024, 03:30 PM."in order to lead America you must love America"

I've not followed the court's rulings on transfers and NIL related issues. As the portal and NIL are going to be important going forward for M to fix it's roster for 2025, I searched the web for pertinent information and found the link below. One thing that caught my eye, among others, was the NCAA's definition of Portal Windows. For Football athletes, the first window opens on December 9th and closes on the 28th. There are probably already players in the portal from previous entry that a team can take but this one is going to be important, especially for M.

Oregon comes to town on Saturday, November 2nd. KO is at 3:30 EDT. CBS gets the call. You can also stream the game on CBS Sports. Remember Daylight Saving time does not end until the following Sunday, November 3rd.
Also of note: M got a commitment from 5* OT Andrew Babalola.

After 2.5d of bad hawt-takes and legit analysis, a consensus is emerging and it involves the thinking that M's offense isn't going to get fixed this season and the defense under Martindale is good. He and the players seem to be adapting and playing solid defensive football.
Clearly the offense is dysfunctional for reasons. Seth did a Neck Sharpies piece yesterday titled "Inside, Outside, Potatoe." One of his points is that in the run game, he believes Campbell is actually calling some good plays that build on each other. IOW they make sense. I mention this because there's been a lot of complaining that his playcalling makes no sense and he should be fired. Seth makes a good case that he's fine, player execution isn't.
The problem is on the OL where aggressive fronts by opponents are getting penetration. If that's nullified by a a conceptually good play call that play call is getting nuked b/c players aren't holding their blocks and poor mostly non-existent, downfield blocking. So, a play that looks about to break big results in a gain of 4-6 yards but not a chunk as it is intended to produce. If only there was a functional passing game, the inside/outside run game wouldn't be getting nuked. What an OC wants is a rhythm to develop alternating successful run plays with successful pass plays. Campbell isn't getting that and a case can be made it's not entirely his fault. The Neck Sharpies piece at mgo is worth a read.
Brian at mgo follows with a reasonable piece, as he routinely does post game. Reasonable because he's not dropping fuck-bombs like one might expect. He makes a sad analysis that, "nothing matters." By this he means QB play is so bad that it limits what plays can be called and renders the offense completely ineffective......and then there are the turnovers that affect the field position game along with Doman's terrible punting (he ranks17th out of 18 in conference) punting also giving offenses massive advantages and free yards.
Finally, most doubt that anyone is going to get fired. The best position to take is that this season calls fans to remember 2020 - the COVID season where multiple factors combined to produce the worst football season in Michigan's modern football history.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. I’ve always thought Sherrone don’t see 2025. There are a confluence of things that make me think that, and now they’re even worse than I thought they’d be.
IMO, he’s gonna get dragged. Big time.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

OC Kirk Campbell has to be gone at the very least.
I don’t think it’s fair to fire a first year head coach unless things in the program are absolutely toxic. Doesn’t appear that’s the case. Rather it’s disappointment due to a number of mistakes that Sherrone Moore made. Hiring an inferior coaching staff and ignoring QB being the two big mistakes.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Reporting on Moore’s contract is that he got coverage for any NCAA violations that occurred prior to his hire. That would seemingly separate him from Stalions and Burgergate.
Personally, I want to clean house and start from scratch but that ain’t happening.
