They did this out of spite. Nothing more. And they knew it wouldn't stand up in court.

Probably because it counts towards "time served" when the NCAA hands down their punishment, which will almost certainly exceed a three game suspension for the head coach.

At first I was kinda pissed at the B1G for suspending Harbaugh, but the more that I think about it, the more it doesn't really bother me. Does it violate due process? Eh. Probably. Is it worse than what we are going to get after due process plays out? Not likely. is it worth fighting when he gets to coach M-F anyways? Probably not.

With that said, Petiti is still a moron.

Sounds like Harbaugh caved, if anyone. So now, when the NCAA comes back, he's got time served of 6 games. Half of the season. I doubt that a suspension will be any part of what the NCAA does. He'll have to be credited with that.

And, the conference can't come back on Michigan after the NCAA's investigation is concluded. Their investigation is over.

Harbaugh gave the crybabies their pound of flesh, and he also took the sword out of their hand for next year. Its not what I wanted, but I don't think it's all that bad.

Harbaugh isn't the only coach from Michigan who will be serving a suspension this weekend.

Tony Annese, the Head Coach for Ferris State, will be sitting out for one game in the playoff matchup with Grand Valley.

Annese is being punished by the NCAA for some of his players smoking cigars in the locker room after last year's National Championship game. Oh, and they tried to peel off some temporary Ferris State stickers that had been posted in their locker room.

Really bad stuff there. Thank goodness for the NCAA!!!!

The NCAA will take care of that in about 6-8 months.

Michigan has a long, storied history in wimping out when it comes to the NCAA. Today's actions continue that tradition.

They wimped out on Jamal Crawford

They wimped out on the Fab Five. Those kids are still being punished by the NCAA after more than 20 years, since the banners they earned can't be hung at Crisler

Now, just when it looked like Michigan had grown some testicles, .. they wimp out on this.

Just give the world what they want, and fire Harbaugh. Go along with the crowd. Never stand for anything.

I guess Michigan will just toddle along behind the Big Ten and NCAA, with their finger up their nose, and do whatever they demand.

And the opposing fans here are absolutely rolling in delight.

And the Michigan athletic department is still scared to re-hang those banners. Those kids earned those banners. Ed Martin had nothing to do with that.

I was really convinced that Michigan and Harbaugh were ready to fight. Instead they wimped out.

I don't even want to watch the game on Saturday. I may not even watch the OSU game. What's the point? If Harbaugh is not willing to fight, why should I watch?

THIS statement sounds like the Big Ten thumping its chest, in that they made Michigan and Harbaugh back down, and kicked them in the ass as they left the room.

They. Wimped. Out.

Maybe I shouldn't be surprised. They've done this so many times before.
