Here we go again. Harbaugh is 'rumored' to be in 'heavy discussions' with going to an NFL team, and has even discussed a move to the area 'with his inner circle'.
Jim Harbaugh in heavy discussions with NFL team: Don't shoot the messenger, but according to this report, Harbaugh has already considered moving.
The rumored team is the LA Chargers.
I'm not an attorney, but wouldn't this be considered tampering in some way?
Anyhow, as it said at the end of the article by one reader, I won't buy it until Harbaugh himself confirms it.
I think a lot of this is wishful thinking by NFL fans wanting a new coach, and Harbaugh haters who want him gone from the NCAA."in order to lead America you must love America"

Too many negative Nancys on the subject of M's football fortunes going forward after week 4. CFB teams have a wide range of strategies to defeat the opponents it faces. If I understand the characterization of M's team "sludgefarting" its way to 4 wins, it's probably a reasonable characterization of Harbaugh's approach to winning football from the first day he stepped on a football field as a HC. From what I'm seeing, M's analysts do a very good job of game planning, finding player or unit matchups to exploit, for a specific opponent. I can spot ways the play calling is driven by what the opponent is doing in game. The results speak for themselves. mgo does reverse engineering through it's UFRs and Neck Sharpies that point to the kinds of things the coaches are trying to do. So far, the coaches have come up with solid game plans, show they can adjust in game and have produced 4 wins where a win was never in question.
Through game 3 and to a lesser extent game 4, there was a lot of experimentation with the OL and I don't think the coaches are done. For example, games 1 and 2 featured a run game with a heavy emphasis on outside zone or stretch zone if you like. This requires the linemen to move in unison into assigned zones. It requires a lot of coordination, one guy missing his assigned zone will allow defenders to leak through and get TFLs on the RB. That happened and those plays got shelved. Game 3 and 4 featured inside and outside power with what frustrated fans: too much inside power against numbers in the box. Regardless of fan frustration, JH is insistent on trying to wear down an opponent's DL and LBs and keeps running these plays. The success rate right now is mediocre but the pieces are there. It will come ...... and you saw that in the 4th quarter in game 4. v a very strong run D if the stats suggesting that are to be believed.
There has also been experimentation with the run/pass distribution and with the read option. That too will come and you saw several big gains by McCarthy running that play in game 4 including a distinct shift to a run heavy play distribution using inside power to set the RO up. This season and IMO, there has been way more of the give what the defense is showing you in play calling - at least that's my take and reflective of appropriate in game adjustments that an experienced offense and defense can accomplish that less experienced units can't.
I posted yesterday that what you saw in game 4 was the management of game control. Nobody on the sidelines panicked after Rutger's opening drive with a big play on 3rd down. A missed tackle by Page facilitated that big run. Fixable - note that Rutgers did not score again for the remainder of the game. I'd call how M played v. Rutgers a masterpiece of game control. Fans want big plays in flashy offenses. That is not JH MO. He will post wins in more games this season a lot like he posted a win v. Rutgers. If you want to call that "sludgefarting" a way to a win, have at it. It's a strategy that even teams that M will face the rest of the way can work. There is just too much player and coaching talent on this team for it to not bring osu to town for a game that will feature at least one undefeated team and my money is on M to be the one.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
