........ or not. I wouldn't be shocked if the Vikings passed on Harbaugh. He'd be a controversial hire in a town that is trying to down play stuff. The Vikings present a stabilizing force in Minneapolis. The last thing owners want is the kind of disruptive presence a quirky Harbaugh can present when things don't go well and until the Vikings get a decent QB, they won't.

That's why it just seems odd that there's really any interest at all in the first place. The Harbaugh that we see is what he is. That "Michigan Man" thing is a safety net that keeps him around A2, but the act that he's developed since leaving the 49ers shouldn't have much flight time in the NFL

But then again, they've got Fleck running the Gophers and my limited experience in Minneapolis is that it's closer to being a colder version of Portland than it is to being just another Midwest town.

Harbaugh was not a bad recruiter. His first two full classes were very good and after that, he performed to recruiting expectations, given how badly his teams sucked ass. He couldn't bag the big game after 2017 because he was getting shitty results.

Well, yes, Minneapolis had a dalliance with the BLM movement but the Mayor, when at the height of BLM stirred anger over the Floyd killing, was asked, point blank by protestors in front of his home, "yes or no, do you support defunding the police?" He said no to the predictable chorus of boos from a predominantly black gathering of protestors carrying BLM signs. That was followed by threats against himself and his family.

In November he won re-election and the defund the police initiative was placed on the same ballot. It was soundly defeated - by, guess who, mostly people of color who reportedly suffered the most when Minneapolis Police refused to police certain areas of the city. I see that as sweet political justice and a slap down of one of the nation's most misguided protest movements in it's history.

I apologize for the political commentary here but you opened the door, Tom. Refreshing, actually, not talking about Harbaugh.

Never in my life seen so many haters flip from anger to Joy. And osu and Michigan fans celebrate the same thing. Poor Sparty isn't happy, they wanted this to go on forever.

I'm glad the decision is finally made. I made peace with either way he decided to go. Now that this is over, its time to get back to work. Recruiting, getting ready for spring practice, and moving on into the 2022 season.

Speculation as to why/why not the NFL will abound. My guess is Harbaugh wanted more control than what NFL HC's usually get, and the Vikings balked. I could be wrong, and I most likely am.

I think this helps to save the roster from a good sized portal rush, and solidifies the recruiting class just signed. And Brady Hoke gets to stay at San Diego State.

On to the 2022 season. Go Blue.

Truth be known, the Vikings probably didn't offer. Harbaugh's a decent coach and a great fit at M. The clown show that would have likely defined M's coaching search won't happen. Thank God.

I'm 90% sure if M decided to go outside the existing staff, do a coaching search, then make a hire within the next couple of months, they'd fuck it up.

I have ZERO interest in "getting to the bottom of this." Everyone should just move on.
