UM’s defense is designed to contain OSU’s passing game, but not to force three-and-outs. We also aren’t good at containing running QBs very well, so Stroud will have lots of space to take off if guys aren’t open. We pick our poison and the poison that we pick is either dinks and dunks or deep fades. I expect lots of hook ups between Stroud and his elite downfield guys on those over-the-shoulder drop-ins. Not necessarily a lot of deep stuff over the middle though.

I’ve seen too many offensive explosions over the years, especially by QBs, to have any confidence going into an OSU game until we finally reach an era where they aren’t experiencing QB dominance.

Our defense won’t be able to hold the Buckeyes under 30 – absent calamitous weather or a Navy-like shortening of the game by Michigan’s running game.

I don’t know what to make of UM running vs OSU. For most of the past 20 years, the OSU game is where the UM running game goes to die. Last year was an exception. Previous to that, not many of those.
