Well, there's two more auto losses on the schedule and road trips to vastly improved Indiana and Illinois teams. Plus the traditional shit the pants game against Sparty with a first year coach. As Jeff noted, 8-4 is the ceiling and I'm almost certain we lose AT LEAST one of those other three. 7-5 is likely, and then the roster really goes to shit next year.
I'm just being analytical about it. It's disappointing but I can't be mad after last season's magical run.

CRD can't beat M. So, you're a fucking idiot.
And I sort of expect the NCAA to "solve" M's SHERRONE!!!! problem.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

He also couldn't beat a total suckass HARBAUGH!!!! team that opted to wave to white flag.
But, such is life. CRD is coaching for his life and in the next 3 weeks he has road games against two top 5 teams and home game against a massively improved Husker outfit that is living definition of trap game. If CRD can managed to go 1-2 it'll be a small fucking miracle.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

On mgo's Monday morning pod cast the general line is that the offense and defense are ok short of big busts at bad times and execution errors on the OL with new starters at C and LT. Looked disorganized.
In the sky is falling meme, it's not. I guess if you consider a 4-6 win season after a NC season ok, yeah, not falling.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

The sky isn't falling if there's a path forward. The question isn't 2024, but 2025 and 2026.
You can live with 8-4 in close proximity to a MNC -- god knows I did back in 2004. But you can't live with it if it's the norm. Especially in an era where 10-2 gets you in the CFP.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

There is some talent on the way, but not enough to put M back in the thick of the B1G race, and certainly not in a NC position. A lot is going to be asked of the '25 class, and I don't think they have what it takes. Brady Hart (if he stays committed) could be a spark at QB in '26 but that's a long way off.
Michigan is going to be duking it out with Iowa/Minnesota/USC and Illinois for NYD bowl games. NC's are totally out of the question.
Caveat would be if somehow a banner year takes shape via the portal. M has already shown it doesn't have the guts to get involved in that.
Mike is 100% correct. This year, its Beat State."in order to lead America you must love America"

Bronxblue writes the post-game "Best and Worst......" articles at mgo. The latest featuring the loss to Washington reminds it readers of several previous teams in M's recent history that resembled seasons similar to what team 144 is dealing with. It's not an excuse for the loss it just reminds fans that this season is a Deja Vu one. https://mgoblog.com/diaries/best-and-worst-washington-1
You can also read Brian's post game analysis while you're there. He's cranky and complains about a lot of the stuff that's been mentioned here so, it's a rehash. Still, worth a read because he's such an entertaining writer.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off.
