They are a joke littered with fucking 6-6 mediocrity. The NY6 have a little intrigue...but not much. Once we get to 12 teams...all non playoff bowls will be a bigger pile of steaming mediocrity. At least the NIT has home games until MSG...and hosting hoops games are cheap compared to football. Sure it's all about who is #69 (which is kinda funny)...but still...

As power 5 football gets to be more like a professional league, the attraction of group of five games get stronger, if you want a more "pure" college football experience.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

To me a lot of the interest in Bowl games was lost due to the increased coverage of football on the networks. You'd think that would be a good thing....
Bowl season in a lot of cases was your first opportunity to see some of these teams, and you got to see them against an opponent you knew what they brought to the table. It peaked your interest. What can UNC do against Tom Osborne's Nebraska team?
Today, there isn't a team you can't tune into with the wide coverage. There is no mystery to peak your interest anymore.
Want to watch Incarnate Word, they got a channel for that....

You as a fan rationalize it's in the best interest of the player to do that.
You as a fan also realize it will make it less interesting to watch the game - when teams aren't fielding their best players.
It's like watching Week 17 in the NFL - and expecting people to treat it like a playoff game - with the QB, RB and star WR sitting it out.

You can always watch another Blue Bloods on ION television.
So I'm watching an important game, where teams are missing their best players as healthy scratches.
Ummm, ok....

To a lot of college football fans especially those of teams that are not going to compete for the national championship, bowls are a big deal.
Ohio State going to the Rose Bowl is a let down. I get it. But would not be a let down for Purdue or Indiana or (heh) Nebraska and it certainly won't be a let down for UtahI feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on
