CFB Nerds breakdown of The Game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfMJ9mvPYpw

As previously mentioned, I like these guys and I think it's pretty insightful breakdown. Their model is in my ballpark of predicted outcomes. One guy picks a 14 point OSU win and the other says 3 points. The scores are right in that 35-30 area.

I feel very good about my prediction.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

They do a decent job on that channel... at least with a fair analysis.

          ...

Michigan has a good shot at playing in the Rose Bowl even if they lose to Ohio State. Play the winner of Oregon or Utah of the PAC12 championship game.
Now... I would rather beat Ohio State than win a Rose Bowl. This game on Saturday vs Ohio State is truly a championship game in my mind.
Can't let this Ohio State winning 15 of 16 in the rivalry stand. 30 game B10 winning streak too.......

Am I going to watch? Of course I'm going to watch. Despite the one sidedness of the rivalry over the past 2 decades, it's still Michigan versus Ohio State. #3 versus #6 in the country. And this has been an absolutely fantastic season that 99.9% of the fan base would not have predicted. How many thought Michigan would make it to this game and have a shot to play for Indianapolis? How many thought they'd be 10-1? This team has worked hard to get to this point -- to get to this game and have something huge on the line to play for. Yes, I am going to watch.

Just about everybody around here was picking 8-4 or 9-3 as a ceiling. Lets hope their doom and gloom about Saturday's game is just as (in)accurate.
I don't watch Fox News for the same reason I don't eat out of a toilet.

99% of programs in the country would give absolutely anything to be in this position at this stage of the season -- to still be playing for a spot in their conference title game and a potential playoff bid. And yet sooooooo many Michigan fans have just given up before the game has even started. I find that bizarre. And yes I've sat through every single one of the 15 losses in the last 16 meetings. I understand how great Ohio State is. I understand how disappointing Harbaugh has been in games such as these. Games against Ohio State, games against upper tier opponents. I started really watching and following Michigan football in 93', so by my count I've watched Michigan lose 19 of the 27 games between these two schools since. Yeah it sucks, But if you're going to cede the game before it even starts, why even follow the team anymore? We get to this point, with EVERYTHING on the line, and we're not even going to watch the game? Lol.

I do think though that a lot of Michigan fans are just saying this to protect themselves from the pain. The Ohio State domination has left Michigan fans damaged, and they don't want to hope only to have that hope crushed again and again. Very understandable. I get it. But at the of the day this stuff is just entertainment. A football team losing a football game means zero in the real world. So just enjoy it. Enjoy that they're in a position to play for everything this Saturday in what will be the most watched regular season game of the entire year. This type of thing doesn't happen every season for us.

Win or lose I will be rooting hard for them and enjoying the moment on Saturday. If they get ran off he field again, then hey, so be it. But no matter what happens I am looking forward to it.

It seems somewhat surprising but this is the 3rd time Harbaugh has been 10-1 going into the OSU game with the conference on the line. He's been 9-2 going in twice.

I'm not foretelling the likely loss to the Buckeyes, but I am stocking up on rum in case they lose.

I think playing at home this time will keep Michigan in the game till middle/late 3rd

I'm trying to say all the nice things about the team now, so I won't have to say it on Saturday, after the game, and while I'm headed full steam into another bout of depression. Its really time to put this dominance to an end, and make the series competitive again. One loss isn't going to diminish anything that OSU has done over the last 20 years.

So many things could go wrong, and let me say this now, .. P.L.E.A.S.E. Big Ten .. give us the BEST officiating crew you can send. Call the game down the middle. I don't want an advantage, and I don't want to have to beat both the zebras and OSU. Leave the zebras home that have a unending hard on for Michigan. Just give us a fairly officiated ballgame. Both teams deserve the best. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I hope Michigan can break the chain.

This is where Warde Manuel ready needs to get involved. It's pretty clear by now who the least incorrupt refs are and he needs to get on the phone with the league office to demand that we don't have a crew of hairless nutbaggers like they rolled out in 2016.

Hopefully the refs are a non-factor.
M fans will be particularly sensitive if an egregiously bad call goes against them because of the game vs MSU this season + 2016 M vs OSU.
Don’t let OSU get away with holding on M’s pass rushers for example … I can see this being something to pay attention to.
                            Be fair, refs!

John O’Neill is the referee that people dislike in the Big Ten.

Don’t think they have announced the crew for this game yet….

If the refs are a factor, it's not exactly a mystery as to which of the two teams will be getting fucked over.

I hope the crew that worked the MSU game are working a game in Winnipeg on Saturday. Far away from us.
