I've noticed for almost every Michigan offensive posession this year, they seem to be trying to shorten the game. They are not snapping the ball until about 5-7 seconds remain on the play clock. This looks like something that is being done on purpose. There's only been a few times where they've done anyting resembling up-tempo. Harbaugh appears to be trying to score slowly, and keep the score down by giving the opponent less opportunities. Its worked against lesser opponents, but I think going forward, that's going to fail. The upcoming opponents are going to have big play capabilities, and M is going to need to be able to score a lot of points to keep up. This offense can't do that right now.

Regarding the QB's, I don't think there's any real controversy right now. Cade is the top QB as of now, and JJ is a solid backup, even though he's a freshman. However, I do believe that given the extra bowl practices, the spring drills, and another summer drill season, and JJ could surpass Cade for the starting job next year. I'm not sure that Cade can get much better than he is now. OTOH, I think JJ can get WAY better than he is now, and he's doggone good now. So, I'll not be surprised if JJ starts next season. But this season? Stick with Cade.

I'm still having a hard time visualizing a M win on Saturday. I just don't see how they do it. I think MSU wins by 3-7 points.

I would suggest all those in doubt to rewatch both the MSU/ Indiana and OSU /Indiana games and tell me Michigan can't and won't lose to Sparty. Everybody is saying and looking for not nice things from UM and forgetting the fact MSU is ready for a big letdown. They should have two losses. Add to that being shut down in halves by mighty Rutgers and Western Kentucky. This is not a very talented deep team. They have a couple of stars on both sides of the ball but no OL and not much of a secondary.
Michigan is just more talented and are ready for a win. Not that they have their inequties.
They will move the ball into the red zone and have to capitalize with td's. and limit MSU's big plays.
This will be the year for a dominant victory for the Maize & Blue

It would be awesome if the Spartans were a more formidable opponent for the Wolverines under Tucker than they were under Dantonio. Dantonio's record against Michigan was outstanding. Not as good as OSU's in the same time period, but still very good.

I just hope you fellas don't drive another scary spike into the Spartan Stadium turf.

Scoring more points- because they've got enough talent and will make fewer mistakes- both of which are reasonable possibilities- is all that you need to think of. Plus there's the chance for redemption after last year's debacle.

Sparty will field a decent team that has far exceeded expectations, but it's ridiculous to think of them as some sort of juggernaut that can't be beaten.

I think that analysis really hit the nail on the head when he said the Spartans were ready a big letdown. Letdowns are always a bugaboo in this game for the Spartans.

Very strange times, it doesn't even feel like Michigan is playing Sparty. MSU uses the transfer portal for Tucker, brought in 20 transfers in the off-season. I guess when they interview the top bad apple still there 'Tom Izzo' on the sideline the hate might kick in, if that don't do it nothing will.

Then you are doing a good job of avoiding replays of "trouble with the snap/surrender cobra", highlights of the Dantionio thugs in action, Mike Valenti and the instant Meijer Spartans (because only losers, i.e Michigan fans, shop at Walmart) who come out in droves when Sparty wins. Maybe you've forgotten that Whitmer was an "integral part" of the football program in the early 90s.

We should all be so fortunate.

I still remember Jerel Worthy twisting Denard's neck in the pile and attempting to maim him. That's not a "rivalry". That's criminal intent.

Im just glad Dantonio left with his tail between his legs.

Liney that was Gholston. and yes Tom I haven't listen to 97.1 for years, the callers IQ match's the station call numbers. As far and the 'Walmart Wolverine' is old saying during the heyday when LLLLoyd was coach (and other schools even did that to each other for a while). Rico Beard has me blocked on twitter, I could care less. I would rather have Juwan Howard beat the head of the snake over there and leave Izzo pouting off the court. That what burns Sparty and mostly Izzo the most.

Tucker is a good guy, he would not want his players holding up signs like the basketball players (forward Julius Marble) here did last week, and its not even his sport. Some may laugh - but this is a refection of Izzo, he hates Michigan more than anyone (by far) on the football team, and I cant wait till Michigan smokes his ass again.
