Fitz will keep this close. He's every bit the coach UM has and will get his undermanned troops ready for this game. I'm willing to just get a win no matter how.. It will be ugly.

If Habaugh wants to prove that he's not the same Harbaugh and this isn't the same old shit, then fulfilling some expectations against a tomato can instead of having them hang with us for four quarters would be a welcome change.

Fitz couldn't keep the game close vs Nebraska (56-7), let's not kid ourselves that NW has talent. They are well coached and their roster is filled with tons of 1st year starters who are more likely to be employed by Tesla than the NFL in four years.

Opening line was M favored by 21. Currently 23.5 with an over/under of 50.5.

It all depends on how M approaches the game.

If they don't take the game seriously, it will be another Army 2019 situation.

If they come out firing like they did against Washington, it could be a blowout.

I'm hoping for and expecting the latter.

You mean they "want to win."
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

That seems to be something new this year, Jeff. I think there is a real effort among the players to change things. I've been wrong before on this, but these guys seem to be taking the season quite seriously. It's going to be an interesting 2nd half.

I also think its "new" meaning it seemed pretty obvious that the team quit in 2019 and 20 - however you might want to characterize "quit."

I made the post about M players appearing to "want to win" games this season - a subjective term that hard to define in any concrete way - as a mitigating factor to JH's tendencies to turtle that Froot was suggesting. I agreed with that and noted JH has a record of doing that under identifiable game circumstances and it drags the team down when he does that.

There were a few comments that mocked that view - at least I took it as that. Glad to see you see it too and I repeated that in the post that I responded to yours. I hate to be mocked when I'm right.

Quit? Most the talent didn't even show up last year.

They had the perfect opportunity, AND excuse, to turtle in the 2nd half of the Nebraska game. The Huskers came out on fire, and Michigan was on the run, and appeared to have no idea of how to stop them. But, unlike other years where they have given up in high pressure games, the kids kept on playing. I hope what I am seeing is a new-found mental toughness in the team AND coaching staff that has been missing for a long time now.
