Michigan is going to be hiring special teams coordinator and inside linebackers coach George Helow from Maryland to become the new safeties coach at Michigan.

They say S coach, but I assume he’s a replacement for either Robinson or maybe the other DB coach who was supposed to come (Minter). Either way, Coach Mac bringing in his guys is refreshing to see. Don't be surprised if Michigan plays quite a bit of two high.

Interesting hires by Harbaugh for sure, I see a pattern. Dallas Cowboys defensive backs coach Maurice "Mo" Linguist expected to go to Michigan as the co-defensive coordinator. Sounds like has a very good recruiter - recruited bateman to minnesota and many top 100s to texas a&m. and he's 36, so another young member of the staff. Never been a DC...

It'll be interesting to see how they do recruiting on the defensive side of things. Honestly, it really couldn't be worse than it was -- at least for a program of M's stature. And they certainly couldn't do worse in the State of Texas. FYI -- 17 o the top 100 2022 Composite kids are from Texas.

HOWEVER, it's one thing to get kids from Texas to go to Texas or aTm (or even Oklahoma). It's quite another to pull them out of their footprint. Texas and Florida are about as cut-throat as it gets when it comes to recruiting -- with South Florida being in a league all of their own.
