I'm even more convinced that this game is going to get played.

They're already setting up the reasoning behind it.

Some of you will remember the 1973 screw job where Michigan and OSU tied at 10-10, and OSU went to the Rose Bowl over Michigan, because MSU's AD voted for OSU.

Michigan was undefeated, and sat at home and could not go to a bowl because of MSU's vote.

Well, Michigan is not going to put themselves in that position. They don't want it to be said that their failure to show up cost OSU a berth in the CCG. "Michigan honor" is a phrase you may hear spoken about the situation.

They'll show even if they only bring the 3rd string, walk-ons and the scout team.

That would be an excellent replacement, but I can't see TAMU agreeing to come to Columbus. It would almost have to be a neutral site game, and there's not enough time to make that happen. AND... the Big Ten won't allow OSU to play outside the conference. So, if OSU plays this weekend, it will have to be against another Big Ten team that needs to fill a vacancy.

Purdue has had Covid problems similar to Michigan's, and may have to cancel their scheduled game this Saturday with Indiana.

If the Boilers have to cancel, would we see another IU v OSU?

Setting aside the repercussions for Ohio State, which will likely be addressed if the B10 is, at all, competent. So, not likely. But, whatever. Setting that aside.

Ohio State was going to wail the fuck out of M if they had a full roster. It would have be running clock bad with a depleted roster. That said, the 30 point line and M's white flag surrender will live.

Not that anyone is counting, but we're up to 3300 days since M last beat Ohio State at football. And thanks to the Surrender Weasels of Western Ontario, that number is guaranteed to surpass 3600. Unfortunately, w/o Justin Fields I don't see it extending much past that.
