As far as the selection committee goes, they’ve matched my picks 24 for 24. They ain’t taking a two loss Big 12 team over a one loss SEC team. 0.00% for the Big 12.

No official call yet, but I say this means Michigan is playing.

Michigan again practiced in a limited manner Tuesday, with coach Jim Harbaugh again postponing his media availability ahead of Saturday's scheduled game vs. Ohio State.

Yes, that too. Why should one game change two decades?

Harbaugh and "selected players" are going to have a presser tomorrow (Tuesday) to discuss the upcoming OSU game.

            M is playing.

I'm even more convinced that this game is going to get played.

They're already setting up the reasoning behind it.

Some of you will remember the 1973 screw job where Michigan and OSU tied at 10-10, and OSU went to the Rose Bowl over Michigan, because MSU's AD voted for OSU.

Michigan was undefeated, and sat at home and could not go to a bowl because of MSU's vote.

Well, Michigan is not going to put themselves in that position. They don't want it to be said that their failure to show up cost OSU a berth in the CCG. "Michigan honor" is a phrase you may hear spoken about the situation.

They'll show even if they only bring the 3rd string, walk-ons and the scout team.

              Bet on it.

Biggest underdog since Rocky Balboa vs. Apollo Creed...

                ...first fight...don't get excited...

For anyone who might still think the game is NOT going to be played:

Michigan returned to practice Monday, the earliest it could, after pausing all in-person football activities a week ago because of a COVID-19 outbreak.

                  From the article:

But that’s a big if even if Michigan can play Ohio State, and it would be curious to see what kind of team the Wolverines would field for The Game. There are the injuries that have mounted throughout the season, and coupled with players who must sit after testing positive, Michigan likely would have third-stringers and scout team players on the field in Columbus.
hmmm... sounds like something I said earlier....

                  They are playing this game.

Call it stupid, call it "honorable", .. call it anywhere in the middle between the two. But, Michigan is going to play this game.

They will play, and they will suffer the worst defeat ever inflicted by an OSU team. AND ... about 2-3 weeks later, Harbaugh will sign his 3 year extension.

Isn't it great being a Michigan fan? Nobody's got it better than us, .. right?

I still think that they are not playing. If they can play against OSU, they would have played against Maryland. It hasn't been long enough.

I agree with Hannibal. Leaking info through the Freep like the bit about third stringers and scout team players is meant to demonstrate the severity of the situation. Then after that stuff circulates for a couple days they put out the statement "For the safety of our players and all those involved.... blah blah blah, we quit".

My guess -- and it's a purely a guess -- is that the B10 is gonna want to know today. They have an interest in whether or not Ohio State plays a game on Saturday...against anybody. Of course, that's only because of their own stupid ass rules, but, still.

I don't M gets to kick the can down the road to Thursday or Friday.

Also -- contact traced folks can come back way sooner. I expect Ohio State to get half its players back for Saturday based on that. Of course, the posiitives still have to sit for weeks upon weeks upon weeks.

That said, the CoronoaBros M Administration ain't playing this one.

I just read that the Big Ten added a caveat to their protocol last month that if a game is canceled, a team can schedule another conference opponent to fill that slot (assuming one is available) but they have to have that done BY WEDNESDAY. So that pretty much makes today a make or break at least for OSU trying to find someone else to play. Therefore, we need to cancel on Thursday.

I'm a little torn on how M will play it, but I can definitely see them waiting until it's too late for Ohio State and intentionally fucking them over. HARBAUGH!!!! would then bolt for the NFLto avoid the repercussions and leave the next HC to deal with CRD.

Sounds like a win-win-push for Mike.

                                https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-...-mac-opponents

"Over the last 10 years, the Buckeyes have played nine games against MAC opponents. In those games, Ohio State has been favored by an average of 30.5 points, which is nearly identical to the 30-point spread the Buckeyes face against the Wolverines this weekend.

Ohio State has been favored by at least 30 points against Big Ten opponents 14 times over the last 10 years – four times against Maryland, three times against Rutgers, twice against Illinois and Indiana and once against Purdue and Minnesota."

Year 6 of Harbaugh and we're the equivalent of a MAC team and the dregs of the Big Ten. Being a 30 point underdog to OSU should be automatic grounds for dismissal. But Warde dithers and wrings his hands... Wouldn't want to have to work hard or make difficult decisions for a $1M/year.
