And Mike's comment is very typical of what I believe is a growing majority of Michigan fans. With a nice weather weekend on the horizon, a lot of folks are going to head outside and enjoy the day, instead of being cooped up around a TV watching Michigan fall all over itself again. With Covid around, we're going to be restricted to our homes a lot more as it gets colder, so when fair weather pops up, folks are going to take advantage.

I have no idea why oddsmakers have Michigan as a 3 point favorite. MSU showed how easily M can be beaten, and they did it with a team that will struggle to finish .500. Indiana is better than MSU.

They are a favorite because they have way more talent... Too bad the talent advantage will be wasted by running into 8+ in the box when the opposing coach is gambling you won't throw it deep or won't adjust their coverage even after their MAC caliber corners get toasted for the 5th time after being left on an island.

I don't have a lot to say about this game because I'm done with M football. That doesn't mean I don't like to talk football ........

Before the MSU game on Fox, UFM said the way to stop M's offense that was admittedly efficient v. the Gophers, was to shut down their short passing game. You tell you're LBs and Ss that it's their job to do that and to do it. M had mostly zero YAC v. MSU in the short game - something they thrived on to extend drives v. Minny becasue Minny played a lot of zone. MSU's LB and S play v. the Gattis O was excellent - playing out of their minds actually.

Two things: First, Milton does not have an accurate deep ball. In fact, it is terrible (so far) and DC's know it. PJ Fleck failed to adjust by playing less zone v. M and lost the game because of it. Tucker, OTH, knew exactly how to defend Harbaugh/Gattis. Go man on early downs and keep Ss up to defeat a short passing game. Second, and WM nails it, these continued failures against most teams that have decent coaching and that Harbaugh faces, JH's strategic and tactical approach to the college game is rigid and, in game, he has no answers when something isn't working.

For example, in 2019 the run game was inefficient yet, the play calling rarely changed - few constraints, no rhythm, the offense sucked. In 2020 v. Minnesota M's O looked powerful with a nicely interspersed run/pass game. But just like 2019, as soon as DCs looked at film and took the run game away from M by stacking the box and pressuring Patterson who read down field poorly when he got pressure, Tucker and his brain trust saw M's weakness v. Minny (Milton with no long ball and, from what I could tell a limited RPO game) and exploited it.

How did Harbaugh/Gattis respond to Mel Tucker's strategery? They didn't. That's a pattern and doesn't even begin to deal with similar patters evinced by Don Brown. Ask me again why I'm done with M football? Never mind.

I'm still going to watch. Could be some rain tomorrow in my area.
The good thing about being a Detroit Lions fan (+ Michigan) for my entire sports life is that losing doesn't hit me that hard anymore. Use to it.......

            ...

M QBs and the deep ball. Seems like M QBs have been very inaccurate with deep passes for the last decade plus. Henne in 2006 was probably the last accurate deep ball passer. All of the Henne to Manningham connections.

It's frustrating to watch considering all of the other QBs across college football that have no issues with this.

I'll be watching also, but from mostly a curiosity point of view. I'm getting to where I treat Michigan the same as I do the Lions. Loads of skepticism.

In typical Michigan fashion, they will win, which they always seem to do right after they serve up a WTF? game- and usually when I have something else going on and can't watch.

I'll probably watch some of the game but I feel good about being at a distance from it emotionally. I just keep conjuring up how much Harbaugh and Brown need to be gone. I use all the shitty plays coming out of those two to pile on and justify my view...... not that that does a single fucking thing to getting either of them out the door.

Harbaugh and Brown do not need to be gone until you have someone better lined up.

Obviously. My point is that I'm not going to get involved with M football or pay for a seat license and season tickets with either of them still coaching. I can guarantee you I'm not alone and I'm pretty sure that Ward knows the program is in trouble. The pandemic is the prime cause but Harbaugh ringing up the loss to MSU with a repeat in that game reflecting why he shouldn't be M's HC, sealed it for me and a whole lot of others like me.

Leave Sark alone. Not ready. He’s a work in progress. Besides, you have Gattis.
