Oh wow, everyone is going to play a 9th game apparently. East #1 will play West #1 for the title on Dec 19, but East #2 will play West #2 and so on down the line.
Excellent. Instead of losing to OSU to end the season, we can lose to Iowa instead...
Week 9 projection:
OSU v Wisconsin -- winner to CFB Playoffs
Penn State vs Minnesota
Michigan vs Iowa
MSU vs Nebraska
Maryland vs Northwestern
Indiana vs Purdue
Rutgers vs Illinois
It's gonna be interesting because there could be all kinds of weird shit that transpires from week to week with positive tests and quarantined players. I expect some chaos games where key guys are out for a strongly favored team and it makes things interesting or tips the scales. Kind of like Houston Baptist nearly winning as a 41 point underdog against Texas Tech.
Yep, teams won't be playing with a full roster of starters. Except for teams like Bama, Clemson and osu that have 4 stars all the way down the three deep at most positions, the rest of the rabble will be scraping together teams in sort-of a sand lot football way. It should make for interesting contests and, even before the M season was greenlighted by the BT my expectations for them was low ..... it's even lower now so, I'm prepared for the inevitable losses that "on paper" shouldn't happen.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
It will never die. It will become "_____ number of consecutive games that allowed paying fans from the general public to attend that have seen over 100,000 in attendance" Duh!
Schlissel isn't exactly loved in AA right now. I read yesterday that he's facing an unheard of "no confidence" vote by the M Board today. Its unrelated to football, but still, he's not exactly beloved in all quarters. He may not be around much longer.
Whitmer isn't exactly loved outside of where the media tells us she is, either. She's going to look like an idiot if this actually comes off as intended.

I'm not gonna defend Whitmer's actions regarding the Big10, if she really is as much to blame as you guys claim, but it's possible, just possible, that the general public doesn't hate her or think she's a dictator as much as you guys make her out to be. Her approval has actually gone up significantly since January.
No, she's pretty much hated by everybody who isn't buying into her rhetoric- which has become ever more tiresome over the summer. There's not enough apathy to keep her in office for a second term if she doesn't get this right.
Polls have become mostly for shit anyways- especially when they are based on calling people. They've become non-stop and are a complete waste of time. Only idiots who believe that they can get lower credit card rates, extended car warranties, improvements to computers that they don't have and live in fear that the local cops will be coming for them on behalf of the IRS participate in them.

This is true. Anyone that has caller ID can see when they are being called by a polling service. I have a service called "nomorobo" on my phone which automatically disconnects any robot call that attempts to reach me. Lots of folks do that now. I'd be interested in seeing the data of people who refuse to be polled.
Gretch can probably be given a C- in her handling of the Covid matter as of now. Those who love her see no fault in her whatsoever. They adore her no matter what. Those of us who live in the real world see a governor that wants to increase gasoline taxes 170%, and has decided to run the state by fiat, because so far, judges have said that she can. When the MSC rules against her in October, she's going to have to go back to dealing with opposition. We'll see what she's really made of then.
Ohio State and Nebraska fought this bullshit fucking tooth and nail. Nebraska was all in, but they needed Ohio State. Ohio State never stopped fighting the tyranny. Those two schools are pretty much the reason the B10 is saying they'll play.
About that, I still think this is an institution that is adamantly opposed to playing. However, they didn't get the rest of CFB to go along with their grossly premature decision so they ended up looking like total fucking assclowns. But, keeping my eye on the ball -- they will cancel football at the drop of a hat. Belive that.
So, I'll believe the B10 actually plays when the B10 actually plays. Today is a good first step. But, there is still a very long way to go.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

I feel the same way.
Its almost as though they set the start date so far out, that they are allowing more time for a "serious" outbreak so they can put a final kabosh on football 2020 once and for all.
Seems to me, that if all these decision makers were so intent on getting on with college football, they'd want to get on with it ASAP. Harbaugh and Day both said they could have their teams ready to play ball in 2 weeks. Why are they waiting more than a month? Again, it just smells of a situation where they WANT this thing to fail.

On that point....the show Rising was talking about a poll measuring gov responses to Covid....Whitmer was towards the top with 64% approval on covid 19.
