  • This Penn State doctor is going around telling people that when the Big10 gave MRIs to covid-positive athletes, about 1/3 showed signs of myocarditis

    Comment

    • About a third of football players have a touch of myocarditis, regardless. And it’s not like they stopped working out and practicing. I guess exertion in game play is the danger, not exertion in a scrimmage.

Yes. Just like it's safe to live in university housing and eat in university dining halls, but not go to class.

        • It’s like they can’t reason. The BigTen did two-a-days and scrimmaged after the season was cancelled for “safety”.

I’m sure I’m not the only person here who played football. Which was harder physically: two-a-days and conditioning or game day? It was the former, and it’s not even close.

          • Cody is right. It is what it is.

Right now, for most Michigan fans, these times really hurt. I'm sure that fact is delicious in the hearts and minds of our opponents, but that's where we are.

OSU ran past Michigan during the Tressel years, and has never looked back. We can argue how fairly that was done or not done, but again, it is what it is, and we are where we are.

Meyer stomped on the grave of the M v OSU rivalry, making the game a nice little soft spot on the schedule every year. Its fine that he did that. It was his job to do so. That's what he was hired to do, and he did it well. The rivalry as most of us old-school Michigan folks knew it, is DEAD.

For OSU fans, I suppose its still considered "a big game", but in reality, its not. Its nothing like what it used to be. When you win, you can characterize it however you like.

Harbaugh and Manuel are on record as believing that the program is doing well, its in good hands, and they're pleased with the results.

            Who are we to argue?

I guess that blog has officially capitulated to the notion that M is no longer a football school. Time to focus on "leaders and best", eh?
mgoblog will go the way of somethingawful.com, Giantbomb, and other once highly influential outlets that committed suicide through a combination of owner neglect and letting SJW parasites take over the site.

                • Seems about right. It was good site that deservedly built up a ton of traffic. Now, it's mostly garbage and the forums are horrific.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                  Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

It's a fucking rivalry ..... it continues to be WAR.

                    Fuck osu.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                    • The irony about MGoBlog is that throughout the season they rail against "feelingsball". A term they coined to demean anyone that doesn't conduct a complete data analysis about why we got our asses kicked by yet another quality opponent. If you point out that we looked lethargic, unorganized, poorly coached, etc. Well... that's "feelingsball" The reality always is that the coaches dialed up the right play, the players executed perfectly 98% of the time and the whole game hinged on a few key plays that didn't go our way simply because of bad luck and the randomness of the universe. Hard to overcome that.

But when it comes to current civil unrest and the narrative that the U.S. is a blatantly racist and awful country, well... the data analysis seems to have flown out the window. It's the ultimate "feelingsball" argument and the nerdy data miners that break down every single play of a football game like its the Zapruder film have nary a word to say otherwise.

                      • I have nothing good to say about the mgo shit hole. It's a shame. Hanni nailed it ...... it will go the way of previously decent football blogs that aged out because idiots took over.

I would guess that it's evolved into a day of celebration for them (even before kickoff). Like an extra holiday. Where everyone can get drunk as shit and know that by like mid-afternoon they'll be celebrating another surefire win over the program they hate the most.
