Selfishly, OSU being out makes Bama's path to another championship easier, because there are just a few teams who can challenge Bama this year. But I’d rather risk losing and face the Bucknuts than to get by Clemson or Georgia and face some team like OU or whatever. Meh.

It depends on how many votes are needed. If the original “vote” is void then yes. I think there are 6 solid votes for ASAP. If the August vote was good then no. I don’t think there is 9 votes for ASAP.

Finding out if the original vote is void will take some time, I would think. It has been my experience that bureaucrats are experts at ‘analysis paralysis.’

I still speak to Paul S on Face Book. His kids are all grown now, and he re-married about 2 years ago. Not sure about what the deal was with his first wife.

Wingsfan is Packy. He still likes talking about the Wings and Tigers.

Doc Hodgeman is still alive and kicking. He came to a game I believe last year (Army?) and I went to Doug's tailgate to see him again.

I wish Jamie would find his way back in here at least occasionally. The old redhead is super passionate about M football and I enjoyed his stories about being in the M Band.

Ned T Elbows. That's the guy I was thinking of. I loved that guy. He was a huge Lions fan and also a Michigan fan. I have no idea how he could type out his conversations the way he did. He had a fantastic sense of humor. I miss him a lot.

I made the mistake of visiting the mgoblog forums today. It has basically morphed into The Huffington Post at this point. They caught the SJW cancer and it's terminal. About 90% of the posters there and the entire staff are openly rooting against football to be played. They won't be the first website to decline into irrelevance because of the SJW cancer and they won't be the last.

Holy hell. I just went over there to see what the reaction was to the "vote" news. What trash. You can get banned for citing Steve Deace. LMMFAO. Don't get me wrong, Deace ain't some sort of magi, but to get outright banned for citing his podcast. LOL.

I guess that blog has officially capitulated to the notion that M is no longer a football school. Time to focus on "leaders and best", eh?

To be a teeny bit fair to them, they're only taking their cue from State Street.

Manuel, Harbaugh and their boss Schlissel are completely satisfied with how Michigan football is being played. Losing annually to OSU is now the accepted outcome. Occasional wins over Penn State and MSU are the new norm. Florida bowl games are the epitome of success. Championships do not matter.

Participation trophies are the goal.

This is why I believe that fans should adopt the same attitude. If its okay with them, it should be fine with us. The fans have let the Detroit Lions get away with that attitude for decades. Why not do the same with Michigan football?

If it's possible for M to be a better program than what they are right now... in modern day college football ... I don't have the answers.
Ohio State is clearly superior and it won't change until they mess up big time. It is what it is.

Being a Lions fan for my entire life and only seeing M go 1-15 vs Ohio State (fan since Chad Henne's freshman year/ 2004) probably did that to me. Easy to have a pessimistic state of mind when it comes to sports.
