Some other names out of the past:

        SpartyOn
        MassSpartan
        Heater
        Paul S
        Skylar Townhouse
        Ben Dover
Ned T(?) the gie hoo tawked funnee (Ned T Flanders?)
        Jamie H
        Doc Hodgeman
        The Prost brothers

        I miss them all

I remember the story that Jerry Bouldin told about how he went to the M v OSU game in Columbus and Michigan won, (1976?) and afterward he streaked (yes, naked) across the OSU campus. I think he got arrested, but the cops let him go because they were so upset over the loss. Told him to GTF out of town... I can't do the story justice.

You left out J Doyle too <;-)

            • Yep. Tom W and J Doyle also.

Wasn't it J Doyle who used to do some of the first work with GIF's in the forum?

One of those guys knew how to hack into the Freep's server and make the forum do other stuff.

Rob F is a very good friend of mine. He was part of the original M group over at the Freep site before it went to Worldcrossing, and then finally here. Rob was there when Chuck Hardway dubbed us as "Borg-like creatures that blindly follow Michigan Football". We took that as a compliment and ran with it. Of that original group, I believe Rob, Jeff, Jon and maybe Mike are still here from that group. Sadly we found out that Chuck Hardway has passed, along with a few other beloved members of that group. Clashmore Mike, Jerry Bouldin, .. I miss them all.

So, Rob can say anything he wants to me. If he gets me upset, I'll just kick him in the shins when I see him again ...
                OUCH!!! Who just kicked me??!!

I don't remember but I remember he was the first one in the forum to master search engines and his thralls thought he was a genius for all of the stuff that he could dig up.

What ever happened to that q-ball Paul S? He was that rare exception for buckeye fans in that he was intelligent and a really good guy (this it may have been a quality he picked up from his wife who I believe is a Michigan grad and /or fan.

And "packfan" became/is "Wingsfan"? Didn't know that.

Isn't "Ned T" the famous and beloved "Ned T Elbows" who is a legend on Deb's Detroit Lions Forum? Don't know if it's still there, but they had a thread on the website dedicated to the memory of Ned. Some wonderful personal stories about the man, worth the read if still there.

You've got me worried with your comment about Doc Hodgman. I thought (and hope) that he's still around. The good Doc is a true gentleman if there ever such a thing!

I've very occasionally seen Jamie Hall posting as "Jamie H" on MGoBlog, but it's been quite a while---maybe last football season or longer--- since I last noticed him posting.

I still speak to Paul S on Face Book. His kids are all grown now, and he re-married about 2 years ago. Not sure about what the deal was with his first wife.

Wingsfan is Packy. He still likes talking about the Wings and Tigers.

Doc Hodgeman is still alive and kicking. He came to a game I believe last year (Army?) and I went to Doug's tailgate to see him again.

I wish Jamie would find his way back in here at least occasionally. The old redhead is super passionate about M football and I enjoyed his stories about being in the M Band.

Ned T Elbows. That's the guy I was thinking of. I loved that guy. He was a huge Lions fan and also a Michigan fan. I have no idea how he could type out his conversations the way he did. He had a fantastic sense of humor. I miss him a lot.

I better get away from all this sentimental stuff ...

                      • The Nebraska lawsuit is great. They’re zeroed in on whether or not an official vote was taken. And, if so, whether it complied with by-laws. If either didn’t happen then the vote is void. The could still vote to cancel, but I don’t think they can get 9.

Meanwhile, Ohio State reporters are saying there will be a B10 vote early next week. I think this is pretty reliable.

The key question then is how many votes are needed.

Regardless, many thanks to the Corn People for fighting the good fight and homering the fuck out of the B10 in state court.

                        • Why 9. Looks like it should be 8.

                          • There’s some sort 60% requirement for these types of votes. And 60% to undo them. It’s a big deal. They have 6 or 7 for playing ASAP. The last 2-3?

                              • I’m not sure you need the final prepositional phrase.
