Agree. Michigan and MSU were definitely cowards. Neither of them were willing to infuriate the will of our dictator. Her mind was made up in June. She never intended to even consider fall sports at either university. She bullied the MSHAA into the same decision.
Ye must not rebel against the Queen
Hmmmm..."the will of our dictator"..."She bullied"... You mean to tell me that along with everything else, Donald is transexual??! And that I must not rebel against Melania, who herself might not know Donald's darkest secret???
I'm willing to give Whitmer another chance once she turns Michigan back over to the democratic form of government that got her elected.
As long as she chooses to remain the supreme leader, I have no confidence in her.
She may not like the Legislature because of its political makeup, but she wasn't elected to the job because it was easy. Among the points she made during her campaign is that she claimed to be very good at dealing with the opposition. We haven't seen much of that yet.
And she was opposed to fall football as far back as May, and has not budged from that position
Also, Rob needs to stick to MGO where he's safely surrounded by a bunch of people who are holed up in their basement petriifed of Covid and, of course, losing againt to Ohio State. He's gonna get pushback here.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
I can see how the 6% number would be very misleading, but IMHO 100% is misleading too. George Floyd would be listed as a Covid death (literally) were it not for the well publicized police brutality aspect of it. I don't know what the right number is though.
This isn't anything new, but the mere fact that the "right number" isn't known tends to cast suspicion on ANY number given. At the every least, you would think that some group of statisticians would gather all of the data, analyze it, run simulations and come up with something reasonable. Of course there will be uncertainty but THAT's what science really is. it would be a lot better than the stupid charts, graphs and hard numbers that have been passed to us. Why an information presentation specialist like Edward Tufte hasn't been given a stage by this point is simply baffling.
We'll find out in a couple of weeks or less whether most universities will have the courage to stay the course and play college football. We're getting what appears to be a mini third wave in some places.
e.g. Alabama (shown below). I wonder what fraction of the recent increase there is college students.
It's not too late to have something like a 6 game regular season against division opponents with a championship game in December. The Presidents have to reverse their Godawful decision, but it's not too late.

Problem is, Michigan and MSU would not be among the teams willing to play. Schlissel and Whitmer aren't going to let that happen.
IMO, even the Thanksgiving week start isn't a given with them.
