The pac-12 is the beta BigTen. That would be less than optimal.

Yeah, and if I really had to guess, the B10 is working in concert with that vag league to put on a season no one gives a flying fuck about.
I want out. SEC East. ACC Not Clemson. Wherever. Anywhere but here.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I understand the rage among OSU's fan base right now, but they're not leaving the Big Ten over this, not even on a temporary basis.
Just the money from the TV networks alone, is enough incentive for the Bucks to stay put. The other leagues aren't going to divvy up their shares to give OSU a cut of what they are getting.
I'd have no problem with OSU leaving personally. If they want to go, then farewell. So long. Don't let the door hit you in the ass. I will smile as they play the Wildcats, Vals and Commodes, instead of NW, Purdue and Illinois. In fact, the first time Vandy comes to Ohio Stadium they'll think they're right at home when they see the shape of the building.
Nobody should stay in any conference where they are not content. Maybe the Big Ten will actually become The Big Ten again. Stranger things have happened.
But, .. OSU is staying. Smack talk aside, .. they can't leave. Rock solid truth.

Ohio State won’t leave, but the TV money point isn’t right, IMO. Right now TV contracts are for a B10 w/ Ohio State and say an SEC w/o OSU. The two highest rated games each year for the past 3-4 years are OSU-M and OSU-PSU. Shift the OSU value to the SEC and one contract becomes worth less and the other worth more.
But instead OSU will just sit around and not play football because Maryland and Rutgers don’t want to.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

And it’s not like the SEC doesn’t make money. It’s the B1G and the SEC - then a wide gap before number 3. It was $721 million in the SEC vs $759 million in the B1G last year. With the BigTen not having football, and depending on the way the contracts are structured for football, and with March Madness being cancelled, it should be significantly less. And as Talent said, adding OSU to the SEC and taking them from the B1G flips the script for decades."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

I actually like Herbstreit. I think he goes out of his way to be fair in his football commentaries. I think he went out of his way on his racial comments as well. WAY out of his way. In fact, too far.
Herbstreit may actually be as distraught as he showed on Gameday, but I'm skeptical. He has a career to protect, and he has to be sure he shows enough concern, or his job is likely to be on the line.
ABC/ESPN/Disney has shown quite an intolerance in the past to those employees and others who express a view that is contrary to their own. It is an overwhelmingly liberal and far left organization and Herbstreit had to be sure to cover his a$$ with his superiors, AND his co-workers.
I think he probably got carried away.
