If you are a team that is a legit contender for that championship banner it makes sense. Flags fly forever.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

      What makes you say that?

The conventional wisdom in Ann Arbor is that Dickinson just wasn't feelin' it and wasn't happy this year, and it showed on the court. Maybe that's wrong. I dunno.

I think he is a selfish player who runs people the wrong way. If he is going to the highest bidder after he wore out his welcome in Ann Arbor, I wouldn't expect much.

            • I wouldn't be surprised if we see a renewed version of him next year, because I don't think he's purely a cut-the-check kind of player, and in a sense you can't blame him for getting what he can out of this now because he won't make as much as a pro in the lesser leagues he's fated to play in. But his best fit is on a team where he's not the best player and not the leader, and in that scenario I think you'd get more out of him.

Personally, I'm mostly glad this period is in the past for Michigan, assuming that it is. We can be a bubble team without him thank you very much. Not hard to do.

              • Jaelin Llewellyn gets his medical waiver, so he will be back for next season. That is pretty big.

And Michigan will play @ Oregon this year. (12/2)

                • Supposedly decision day for Dickinson. Less than 5% chance its us, but this has seemingly been the quietest month of his life thus far. I bet it's Kansas.

                  • Kansas is about the furthest away from home (Maryland)... Maryland, Georgetown, Villanova are relatively close to home.

                    • Personally I think home is down by the ol income stream. And I don't blame him. These are his prime earnings years. Sucks for us, kinda, but is what it is.

                      • Hunter Dickinson and Bill Self are soulmates, the corruption binds them together.

                            • I think Hunter's got some maturing to do, and you don't want him as your best player, but not seeing corruption, so to speak.

The guy was guaranteed $ 4 million over two years. Any one of us would have taken that deal (if it was the best deal offered). UM has to get with it in NIL.

The strange thing about all these transfers and NIL deals was that we all criticized John Belien for not being able to recruit, but now it appears that the Belien-type recruit is better for a program than the one-and-done.
