  • Dickinson seems to be pitting bluebloods against each other. I'd be shocked if he's back. And not sure I'd be more pleased at his continued presence or what it says about how fast and far Michigan has come in the NIL factor. I'd love for Juwan to close with Nkamhoura and find one more talent to round things out. Maybe a freshman transfer like the LSU center Phillips to replace Kante. Nkamhoura sounds like an awesome addition -- two year starter for an elite team who can play the 4 or 5 and be a great defender. Exactly what we'd need.

    • Yeah I think Hunter is likely gone. If he gets a couple million NIL good for him not sure that Michigan is at the level where Hunter makes them a legit FF team. At Kansas or UK he might be that can of difference maker.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

      • Dickinson needs to get paid now by the blue-bloods since his NBA career might not earn him much.

        • Yeah. You can't blame him for needing to max out his earnings potential. It'll be maddening to see a more engaged and hustling version of him next year than we got the past two years, but is what it is.

          • Not Michigan Basketball, but from the same state:

Emoni Bates will leave Eastern Michigan and enter the NBA Draft.

Go get your passport, Emoni. You're going to end up in Europe. I suggest France. Second choice would be Italy. Great food and cute women. But stay away from Sicily. The Corleone's still have a lot of influence there, .. or so I'm told.

Greg Glenn III enters the transfer portal.

              • If Bates has been sufficiently humbled, there's a potential NBA player in there. He's got one skill, shooting, plays a me-first game, and everything else is mostly a mess. Which isn't significantly different from Jett Howard.

                    • Yeah, between "one and done's" and "not as good as we thought", things are pretty sucky right now at Crisler.

Idk, they are going to lose Hunter but if they get Nkamhou that will help offset the loss of Hunter. If JL gets his 6th year then Michigan might actuallly be deeper than last year. If tht happens then you would probably have something like this

                        Dug
                        JL
                        ????
                        Nkamhoua
                        Reed

I am not sure who the other starter would be. I would think the fight would be between Williams, Walker and Love. I think if JL comes back he is a starter given his ability to hit a deep shot and would help space out the floor. If you start Love makes Michigan awfully small 1-3 plus his offense runs hot and cold. Williams does give some size but had a real regression this year offensively. Walker can hit from deep and Nkamhoua is athletic enough to play the 3, but Walker has been a bench guy his entire career.

You also have Burnett, Cheddar and Jace that can get some minutes. We will see if Khayat shows enough do enough to force his way into the rotation. I think he has a rep of being a good shooter but we will see. If he can force his way, and his shooting is legit that would be a very welcome addition. Too often last season the bench was a nonfactor.

                        • Dug/Love/Burnett/???/Reed. JL off the bench for a solid 3-guard rotation with Jackson, Khayat, Twill. Plug in Nkamhoura and I'm excited to have a team that's gonna defend hard, stay off the bubble, and round into shape in February. I'm hoping that it's just a matter of being able to take what the NIL collectives were going to pitch to Hunter and getting it to Nkamhoura. Don't expect it to contend for the conference unfortunately, but compared with last year's complete bungling of portal season, this year is so much better. Burnett, Reed and Yoyo are candidates to explode, and if any of them do, and Nkamhoura is here, it's top-25ish. Juwan's strength is making the most of the players he has. This year he's done a much better job getting players. There's a chance to be more than the sum of the parts this year, unlike the last two years when they were clearly less.

                          • Why would anybody give Dickinson millions in NIL money? That's a bad investment.

                            • Not if he returns to his freshman year form.

                              • His true form is what you saw last year. Hypothetically giving him a million dollars won't help matters in my opinion. He needs to go to the league and toil for a few years.
