Look. I understand some posters here are fantastically jealous that Michigan has not only the reigning Big Ten football AND basketball champions but both coaches in those sports are the reigning national coaches of the year. It makes sense that you would like to see one of them fired for bitch slapping some asshole from Wisconsin. If my rival just won the Big Ten, was a #1 seed in the tournament, and just signed the #1 recruiting class in America, I’d be clamoring for his dismissal, too.

Lots of basketball know-it-alls want Howard gone for at least the rest of the season, (5 games). Some of the more snooty people want him gone forever.

Looking at the schedule, Michigan only plays one game this week (Rutgers-Wed) followed by Illinois on Sunday. Both are at Crisler. Following that MSU and Iowa come to town, before they finish at Columbus.

I guess this could go one of several ways. Manuel could listen to the snooty do-gooders and fire Howard. He could listen to the mind-numbingly stupid talking heads in the sports media and suspend Howard for the remainder of the regular season. Or, he could shorten it up a bit more, and just make it a 2-3 game suspension, and bring him back for the final 2-3 games.

I imagine Phil Martelli will be stepping in as HC in the meantime.

The Spartan basketball team is junk this year. But again, Juwan made a terrible mistake and it isn't the fault of the WWAMC .

I can assure you if a high school or NBA coach did this he would be fired. But I guess when you are a former Fab Fiver at M...you get the benefit of being a former Fab Fiver.

My guess is Kevin Warren will suspend him for the remainder of the regular season and the B1G Tourney since that impacts the B1G...and put the rest of his fate on the M admins...who if I am them...suspend him for the NCAA or NIT...whichever they make.

This will probably impact the NCAA Selection Committee as well...I don't know how it couldn't.
