I saw that and his explanation excuses nothing.

I understand Howard telling Wisconsin's HC that "I'll remember this" when addressing his calling 2 timeouts in the final 15 seconds of a game that became a blowout.

The Wisconsin assistant had no business jumping in and making contact with Howard.

Everything after that is to be expected in a heated situation.

Is Howard justified in smacking the Wisconsin assistant? Of course not. Does he deserve to be fired? Absolutely not. Suspended? Yes, and I'd say about 2-3 games. Most here will want him fired, or suspended for the remainder of the season. Some of the talking heads on the sports networks are calling for firing and/or lengthy suspensions. Bobby Knight made a career out of unsportsmanlike behavior, yet today he is still revered and honored in basketball circles.

I'd still like to know what the assistant said to him. Something was said, that made Howard lash out. There's more to the story.

You OSU guys should love this. I'm sure the little nimrods in Columbus are already making up taunts for Howard when they close out the season at OSU. You guys should be hoping he's on the bench. Good times for you all.

I get it. You guys want him fired.

You may get your wish. There's lots of self righteous pompous nutjobs within the Michigan athletic department, and they may get their way and have him fired.

But I don't think its deserved, and I think a firing would be a decision that they'd live to regret.

Wisconsin AD Chris McIntosh, who is also speaking alongside Gard, said there were injuries but declines to elaborate on them. McIntosh said he's already spoken to the B10 commissioner and wants swift action to be taken

Bobby Knight, btw, was fired when he was caught putting hands on another human being. So was Woody. It’s fucking laughable to just excuse this away as “Wisconsin instigated it!!!!!!”

IMO, this like 8-10 games minimum. At least a third of the season. You’re the fucking HC — you can’t throw a punch. Period.

I'm sure you fellows will love what the Big Ten hands down. The NCAA and the Big Ten loves making an example of Michigan whenever possible. They now have the ammo. I'm sure they will take full advantage.

Wisconsin blew out the Spartans at Breslin one time and they called a timeout to run a alley oop dumk play. M homers never miss an opportunity to bitch about Izzo"s antics but he never struck Bo Ryan. Apparently, Greg Garde is a part of the World Anti-M Conspiracy Organization.
