I watched some old Disney shit in anticipation that stuff is going to start disappearing from Disney+
Saludos Amigos (1942)
The Three Caballeros (1944)
I saw Three Caballeros a bunch as a little kid for some reason. Didn't remember much about the other one or if I ever saw it. A lot of the 40's were weird times for Disney because virtually all their film-length features after 1942's Bambi were anthologies rather than single stories. And lots combined live-action with animation. Both of these films were meant to familiarize Americans with Latin America, several countries in which were drifting uncomfortably close to Nazi Germany before and during the war.
Saludos Amigos is almost too short to be considered a movie (not even 45 minutes). There are four segments of which the Goofy portion is the best. It also marks the first appearance of Jose the Parrot. That Brazil segment also features the best of the music
Three Caballerosruns a more typical movie length. The title song is catchy even today. Better film overall. Could easily see kids finding it boring though.
