    • When I saw “Massive Talent” last week I bought a popcorn. I don’t usually. The price was 11 bucks for a large wax paper bag of it. Sodas, candy, alcohol, and popcorn is crazy high. It’s like buying something at a MLB ballpark.

A lot of the people who seem to dislike it are the super-devoted-to-the-MCU types who like everything to look and feel the same. So it could be alright. Directed by Sam Raimi and while he's obviously got restraints it supposedly has a little more of the individual director's style than most of these.

SPOILERI hear it also may fix my biggest beef with the end of WandaVision which treated Wanda as having made some sort of huge sacrifice for the people of Westview. Uh, no, fuck that. She psychically raped a thousand people and held them hostage to indulge her wannabe fantasy life

                    • A lot of people have high hopes that the Marvel movies will be better this year than in a while because Raimi, Waititi, and Coogler are directing their big 3 releases. And then Guardians 3 comes out spring of next year.

                      • And speaking of comics, 80's legend George Perez died yesterday after a long fight with cancer. Only 67.

If you read any DC comics in the 80's you almost certainly saw his work. He did work for Marvel though too and had a nice run on the Avengers in the late 70's.

George Pérez -- one of the most famous and prolific comic book artists of our time, with work in both DC and Marvel -- has died.

Another great artist and advocate for creators' rights, Neal Adams, died just a few days ago. He's probably best known for some of the awesome Batman books he drew in the 70's.

Artist who reinvented the look of classic characters for Marvel and DC Comics and fought for the rights of illustrators

                        • DSL if I haven't recommended Rob Ager's channel yet, let me do that now. He has some great film critiques and analyses. Very educational too. Here is his latest video -- on the 1979 Disney movie The Black Hole.

I think I have seen one or more videos from this guy talking about the Shining.

But damn, a 105 minute video reviewing the Black Hole? That's a hard sell dude, lol

                              • His The Shining videos tend to be my least favorite. Mostly because he can't stop gushing about what a genius Stanley Kubrick was and how every scene is a masterpiece of 6D chess.

The Black Hole has aged pretty well. Or at least most of it has. It's worth a watch if you have never seen it.
