I need to watch it. Seen a few shows, but haven’t followed it. Funny enough I just saw a tictok law professor talking about a Saul courtroom stunt where Saul asked a witness on the stand if he could identify the guy who committed the crime and the guy said yes and pointed to the man sitting at the defendant’s table - but that guy was just a look-alike. The real defendant was in the back of the courtroom. Amy, a good gorilla, and her best friend go on a vacation to Africa to help a nice blonde lady find laser diamonds. They enlist a Ghostbuster and a creepy weirdo doing a fake accent to help them. Some bullshit happens but then some creepy grey gorillas attack and kill off the lesser members of the team. Before everyone gets killed a volcano conveniently erupts and they leave in a hot air balloon, but without Amy the Gorilla. Joe Don Baker screams repeatedly that he just wants the goddamn diamonds.

The start of my attempt to watch the entire Wes Anderson catalog. This was Anderson's second movie but the first (Bottle Rocket) barely has any of the stylistic choices we've come to expect from a Wes Anderson movie. This is really where it starts. And in a lot of ways this is possibly my favorite. I've seen in at least a half dozen times.
If you've never seen it, the extremely loose semblance of a plot is that a student, Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman), attends Rushmore Academy. Despite being one of the school's most active students, member of perhaps two dozen clubs, he is also one of its worst students and is on the verge of expulsion. He befriends one of the school's benefactors, a jaded industrialist named Herman Blume, He's not an alumnus himself but both his twin sons attend. Max soons develops an intense crush on a single Kindergarten teacher at the Academy, Rosemary Cross. But a love triangle soon develops as both Max (who's much younger) and Herman (who's much older) both fall for the teacher.
The movie overwhelmingly still holds up but a lot of Max's actions seem uncomfortable in retrospect nearly 25 years since this first came out. No need to sugarcoat it: he's a stalker. A manipulative, gaslighting one. He manipulates his best friend, he manipulates Herman, and he manipulates Rosemary. BUT there's so much positive in this movie that I overlook the worst parts of his personality and just enjoy the movie on the whole. The moment when someone from the school finally meets his dad is very touching. His rivalry with the school's Scottish bully is great. And of course, his play about the horrors of Vietnam.

You need to do the worst movie in the history of cinema that the masses thought was a good film. A film with so many logical issues that it is impossible for any non-hypnotized person to enjoy because you absolutely cannot suspend disbelief to enjoy the film.
That film is, of course, Signs.

Also, saw “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” yesterday. It was cute. It doesn’t take itself seriously and is a crime boss/spy/action-comedy loosely intertwined with a Nick Cage biopic. It was worthwhile for a Saturday early afternoon matinee.
