  • Oh, I knew what you meant. Hopefully, you were typing that for a dullard like DSL.

Try f3 in place of Nc3. Most CK players take e4 and you evolve into a nice open game much to their chagrin.

    • It’s like playing Bb5 after …Nc6 in a Sicilian. Sicilian players hate the Rosso.

      • Yeah, I like that concept. I played this one other time against him and crushed him. He took on e4 and turned into an open game. But I like the open F file theory. May ultimately require an extra move to secure king, but I’ve been aggressively opening up f file as of late so that’s in my wheelhouse.

        • Thank Tartakower. May he Rest In Peace. He also has an interesting variation with the French. Produces a hard nut to crack for white with some interesting lines - even though the French is out of favor for the top levels now.

          • Anyway, I’m fully engaged with the game. Love it. Have found a few YT channels I really like and even watch chess videos. Some instructional in nature (Naroditsky) some just entertaining (Agadmator).

I’m starting to actually understand it just a little. It’s fun.

            Now, STFU

I’ve never played French nor do I intend to. Would rather play bongcloud.

                      • lol. Botvinnik and Petrosian terrorized white with the French. Opponents felt lucky when they drew the black pieces just to avoid having to attack the French vs either.

                              d. Mike Robe
Starring: Tom Berenger, Fletcher Humphreys, Ryan Kwanten, Bernard Curry

One of the finest biopics ever made, Tom Berenger may as well be Bear Bryant reincarnated, his mannerisms and voice being so pitch-perfect. He gathers a group of Australian young men and teaches them to handle rattlesnakes, make sagebrush soup, and rub dirt in a bullet wound. The squad goes 1-9 but manages to beat Georgia, as their coach (Wally Butts) is notorious for taking bribes to throw games.
