Ethan Hawke and the IMF uncover the existence of a secret "rogue state" called The Syndicate: a collection a former secret agents from all over the globe that have gone rogue to form a criminal/terrorist organization. Basically a lot like SPECTRE.
It's definitely in the upper tier of this series. A great concert hall scene, diving into the underwater centrifuge thingy, hanging onto the plane, the motorcycle chase, and villains you want to see dead. Unlike the last film it doesn't sputter out towards the end. And Rebecca Ferguson is a welcome addition to the team as Ilsa Faust. Considering she's in 6 and is set to appear in 7, she's basically the only female character to appear more than once in any significant role.

AA- Not to completely change the subject but you ever watch a crime film from the early 70's called "Prime Cut", starring Gene Hackman and Lee Marvin? Whew, that's a movie dealing with unpleasant subjects.Comment

And yeah overall I liked it. Lots of moments had me tensing up though like "oh this is going to get gross in a hurry" but it never quite crosses the line. Well, heh, at least not for me. I'm sure lots of people wouldn't want to watch it. Lee Marvin was great.
Director Michael Ritchie had one of the more bizarre filmographies I've seen. 4 years after making this movie about gangsters grinding each other into sausage, gang rape, and human trafficking, he was making The Bad News BearsComment
