NSFW and spoilers involved. I've still never seen any of The Boys I guess because i expected it to be like the comics (which I've read entirely) but this kind of makes me want to watch it. Over time my opinion of the comic has been steadily getting worse as just being one writer (a good one, to be fair) getting his rocks off showing tons of shock value and killing off superheroes in gory ways. The video notes this but the creator of the Boys comic, Garth Ennis, is notorious for hating the very concept of super-heroes.
This short video compares the comics to the show and calls it a rare example of the adaptation being significantly better than the source material.

I have not watched The Boys but will probably watch it because I'm a big Supernatural fan and Kripke was the creator of that.
At the beginning I thought Supernatural was a basic Buffy/Angel knockoff. But as one of the networks (Comet) is now playing Buffy reruns it makes me re-evaluate that. Supernatural is far superior, Buffy has good stories and good characters but the acting is really bad.
