Samson owns a bar and nightclub and keeps his neighborhood clean of crime and drugs. But Italian gangster Johnny Nappa (William Smith) just can't wait to sell drugs on his streets. Can Samson beat the Mob?!?!
A lackluster and very mediocre blaxploitation film that's mainly hurt by the monotone performance of its leading man. But I've also seen much worse. William Smith (who was in a ton of B-movies) as the main villain steals the show, He's kind of interesting as he initially comes off as quite cool and mellow and descends into full blown sadistic psychopath by the end. You won't care much about Black Samson but you WILL want Johnny Nappa to die. Although much of the movie is (quite frankly) boring the last 10-15 minutes is a bonkers scene in which an entire neighborhood throws every piece of junk imaginable (including old refrigerators!) at mobsters from building rooftops.
Oh and he does have a pet lion that just lays around on top of the bar at his club. It's quite possibly the most drugged up lion in cinematic history.

THREE THE HARD WAY (1974)

Starring; Jim Brown, Fred Williamson, Jim Kelly, Sheila Frazier
Our three main leads fight across the country to stop a genocidal white supremacist plot to kill all minorities in America by poisoning the drinking water.
The movie is basically one set piece after another with Jim Brown, Jim Kelly, Fred Williamson, or some combination of all three killing a bunch of white dudes in red berets. It's not bad at all but there's so many split scenes that no one character gets a lot of time to shine. Plus, the main bad guy doesn't get the death he deserves. I'm not even sure he dies. It's poorly shot and edited. At least the head scientist gets a ticket to Burning Man.
But there IS a lot of good action. Some of the stunts are crazy, including one where a guy gets tossed out of a speeding truck into a highway sign. There is a shootout inside a 70's arcade that's probably my favorite scene of the film. A rare blaxploitation film with no sex but there is a crew of topless female torturers, just to please that segment of the audience.

Back when they did Batman in 89, I felt that was the future. Studios doing a superhero franchise that would produce a monster of the week type story. The key with the Bond movies is they never have a true origin story, it makes.it better. The market was totally underserved, it never really did that however.Comment

Quantum of Solace easily the worst. Worst villain, worst plot, but most of all worst directed. The most “Bourne” of the Bond series. But I think I said a few weeks ago, I do really like the opera sceneComment

On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Licence to Kill are arguably the two "most different" of all 25. Had the former starred Connery or Moore I think it might be widely regarded as one of the best in the series. The latter is very close to being an R-rated 80's action flick.
