Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season

Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

I think he wants to; he has had the yips in some crucial moments that have hurt him. He has to hurry. He is rapidly becoming too old. The era of Steinitz is long over. Recent GMs are winning the championship in their 20’s and peaking at around 30.

    • And as a movie aside, friends and I are seeing “Renfield” tonight. Nick Cage as Dracula has to be awesome.

        • No way it's better than any piece of the National Treasure franchise, but that's like saying The Nick isn't as good as The Bear.

                • Tom Berenger plays The Gay Bear as he's off on adventure to find the lost confederate gold buried underneath then-Denny Stadium. Could Wallace Wade have left a clue in an old 1925 playbook?

                    • You know I love humor, but when it’s forced or hackneyed it loses its soul and just becomes cringe.

Both of you guys can be funny, but this isn’t it. Not even close. Do better. Both of you. Seriously.

                            • Guys, as Delmore Schwartz once wrote, “time is the fire in which we burn.”

He was saying that life is fleeting. As I often say, we - and everyone we have ever known or loved - will face some catastrophic failure of some organ or system, either through disease or trauma, and Death will take us. It’s not if, but when. You, your children, their children - everyone. Please stop wasting our precious waning moments with D and F-grade “humor”. Either be funny or informative or thought-provoking or let your peaceful silence allow us to mistakenly assume that you have something worthwhile to say brewing in those vacuous gourds atop your shoulders.

Remember: Time is the fire in which we burn.

                              Dismissed.
