So, I finally won the foiled Nimzo-Indian match. He was in a dark spot after 3 moves and it was over after 8. But he tenaciously fought out for another 15 or so moves before finally succumbing merely down 2 rooks, 2 knights, a bishop and 3 pawns. So, I'm playing him in a rematch and I'm white. I want to roll with either the Spanish or Scottish. So, I'm proceeding according until 2....f6??. As you will recall, as white he went c3. I moved (Bc4) and then looked up the move -- apparently it's the Damiano Defese and it is "very weak." Heh. I did not find the best move, though. The best move is to sacrifice your knight (Nxe5 and blitz him with your queen and bishop.
To explain all of this -- he's my uncle (BY MARRIAGE) -- so that's why I'm playing. He's also Canadian which explains his approach to openings.
That said, it's nice to have a match or two where I'm the hammer instead of the fucking anvil.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
