    • You'd think after this many years, that fans like Hannibal would look at the wreckage year after year, and think, "Maybe... just maybe... there are problems beyond the Head Coach."

      But apparently not.

        • Harbaugh won one more game than most expected to finish the regular season 9-3. His team beat 2 of 3 rivals which most offered pre-season they'd be happy with that. I'm not sure the majority here thought M would beat osu this season. By the time we figured out they were good, nobody should have thought that a win was a possibility.

It sucks to be owned by osu but that is one hellofa good football team. Credit where credit is due.

If you went into this game thinking M was going to win you were an idiot. osu exploited the biggest weakness of this team's defense: the interior DL. Brown did a good job of papering this over against even good offenses. osu is a great offense with a superior OL. They got hammered and no spilling or bringing a S and/or LBs up made any difference. dobbins was good enough to see defenders and go where they weren't. He's a great RB. M's DL was owned by osu's OL. Plain and simple. I said pre-game the key to winning was stopping dobbins. M didn't. They lost.

          Move on.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

          • As a witness to this latest "adventure", all that I can say is THIS. It all came down to ohio being able to do things that some, but not all, NFL teams can do. They simply are at a different level, and I don't think that anybody in the conference, or elsewhere, can stop them. It's very humbling- because yes, Michigan did bring everything that they had today. It wasn't evencloe to being enough, The key to this game was being able to get to Fields. The only time they managed to get to him was when the got to him out of bounds. It just wasn't there- and Wisky and whoever they face in the CFB Playoff aren't going to do it either.

Maybe a Harbaugh coached team can deal with this offense, but that's John and the Baltimore Ravens. That sucks, but it is what it is.

And the Ravens are really good.

            • Its really easier to handle when you realize that TPTB are fine with the way things are. Just like the Ford Family and how they handle the Detroit Lions.

If the people on State Street are fine with this, then why wouldn't I be fine with it? Warde Manuel holds the keys to the program. Even though Hackett is the one that hired Harbaugh, Manuel has made it clear that Harbaugh is his guy. And how does he fire a guy that averages 9 wins per year?

And speaking of Harbaugh, what if he fired everybody that works for him? Fire everyone from Don Brown, all the way to the night watchman. Bring in an entirely new staff. Does that change the scoreboard in Columbus next year? Absolutely not. If Vegas would take the bet, you could go today, and bet on OSU to win next year, and it would be a mortal lock. Nothing is going to change, because too much damage has been done to the program, and no progress has been made to repair the problem. OSU had one "off" year in recruiting last year, but that has been bracketed by an excellent year before that, and their recruiting this year, where they are way ahead of Michigan already. So, those kids arrive in 2020, and graduate in 2024. You're not going to see another Michigan win before that, at earliest. So, at minimum, we're still five (5) years behind in recruiting.

Auburn finds a way to beat Alabama once in a while. UCLA beats USC occasionally. Florida and Florida State trade wins over each other. Even Texas finds a way to beat Oklahoma more often than Michigan beats OSU.

This is no longer a rivalry, in my mind. I said a few years ago, that the series has become a soft spot on OSU's schedule, and that's exactly what it is. A true rivalry IS a RIVALRY when the two teams have a real chance to win. That has not been true with Michigan since 2003. We have one anomalous win in 2011 where OSU had a brain fart and hired a stupid coach, but they rectified that when Urban Meyer's doctor said he was 'all better now' and allowed him to coach again. So, this is NOT a rivalry. Its an annual butt whipping, and a soft spot on OSU's schedule.

All of these teams hold one thing in common regarding OSU this year:

              Florida Atlantic
              Cincinnati
              Nebraska
              MSU
              Wisconsin
              Penn State

All six (6) of them held OSU to less points than Michigan did today.

              Fear Florida Atlantic.

              • The one thing where Ohio State excels at is replacing players with no dropoff. That means they are recruiting great and they have great development. Any holes they still may have they take care of with transfers.

                    • Michigan's defense was bad but the offense had a big hand in the 56 points given, two turnovers and they turned it over on downs twice in their own end. 21 points scored off that. The receivers dropped way too many balls.

To beat OSU you need a really dominant defense that doesn't rely on blitzes.and can play well in base coverage. Even then you are relying on making mistakes. The other way is you have to match them scoring. Michigan's defense is a flat track bully defense and they haven't had an offense that has had to match score for score, it's foreign territory.

                          • JK Dobbins ran for 211 yards on 31 carries because we weren't taking a knee like everyone else LMAO

                            • OSU ran for 264 yards on the ground against Michigan, which is actually 18 under their season average.

but hey, lets keep up the charade that a team that averages 50ppg with the #1 ranked defense was somehow a beatable opponent. I know how you love your narratives.

                              • They had 285 at half time. So they get only a hundred yards in the second half - all in comeback mode. That stinks. Patterson was 4 - 23 in 2nd half. Receivers dropped 5 straight at one point. Stink, stunk, stank.
