Only 1 turnover when it didn't matter. As maddening as it is to watch Patterson miss wide open receivers at least he didn't turn the ball over until it didn't matter. This is really the story. Remember how many turnovers in the first 5 games? UM has really turned that around. The only criticism I have today is I would have liked to see Patterson run the ball more on the edge. But other than that, we thumped a team that was 7-3 on the road. What say ye Jeff?Last edited by maxreturn; November 23, 2019, 07:14 PM.

Annoying ending. Annoying game on so many levels, not the lest of which was ESPN's production. I didn't see the 2 point conversion and several play, not just a few, were not seen due to some dumb ass, unrelated story, review of Harbaugh's record, a useless feel good story. Just awful.
I can't accept that the coaches finally figured out that they needed to throw the ball to the receivers. Can't.
Patterson has looked pretty good in the last two games and stood up, except for one terrible throw he should have never taken, to Allen's pressure defense. Gattis abused it with his play calls.
Nico, DPJ and Bell ran some great routes by play design and execution. I think this is the biggest difference in the coming out of the Gattis offense and Shea Patterson running it. His throws are 100% more good looking than they have been previously. Did we see much better OL play, good coaching, good film study, injury recovery from Patterson and the receiver room? I don't know..... but, just can't believe that some light bulb went on among the coaches after PSU and the MSU beat down.
I think M's offensive success in live action - not practice - seeing how plays work, visualizing success is a big factor. Harbaguh was probably right when he said, "we're close." Everybody laughed, including me. The players are getting it. The coaches already had it. Nobody is laughing now and neither should greg mattison be laughing.
M had 87 yards rushing. Didn't matter ....... and this may be a bigger deal than we think it is. BT opponents work to stop M's run game. M can still beat them with s a scary good RPO and long ball off the PA to Collins.
IU had 97 rush yards at /2.6 ypc. This was a passing game all the way; an RPO and deep ball contest between QBs and receivers and M won that one hands down. Patterson's stats:
Collins had 6 catches for 165 yards and 3 TDs.20/32 366 11.4 5 1
Defense downloaded what IU was doing after sometime in the early 2nd quarter. I've got no problems with anything the D did.

Road win in shitty weather without costly mistakes or fumbles. Woof.
+1 turnover margin.
Very efficient offense with 61 plays producing 39 points - 6/6 in the red zone 5 TDs and a FG and a fuck you, ESAD 2 point conversion (yeah, it was a game theory call but fun).
Hello osu. Welcome to the Big House.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Michigan played a bit better than I expected. Patterson threw a couple bad balls, but you can't argue with 5 TD passes. I like seeing them attacking downfield, especially after the sudden changes. Michigan held a huge advantage of receivers vs their db's, and they exploited it nicely. I was a bit nervous at 14-14, but Brown got things adjusted, and after that the game went the way it should have gone.
Nine wins after where we were following the Wisconsin loss is a decent achievement. Too bad Ronnie Bell didn't hang on to that pass at Penn State. Ten wins could have happened.
I still see no way Michigan wins vs OSU. They had their 'bad" game, their 'let-up" game, and now its behind them. They'll be running on all cylinders come next week.
But, its good to enjoy this one. 9-3 is a good season for this team. They've reached their ceiling for this year.

Today OSU lost 3 fumbles on their HOME field and may very well have lost had it not been for PSU's starting QB leaving in the 3rd quarter due to injury. As good as OSU has been they have NOT played anyone as good as UM on the road. If Patterson plays within himself and doesn't turn the ball over I really like our chances.
