    28-0, Patterson to Eubanks.

No problem whatsoever with the score. The overall performance is another matter.

      Winning with cruelty.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
      Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

35-7, as the kickoff team gets roasted. Damn.

Why can't McCaffery be the damn QB. The ball comes out of his hands like a rocket and he's actually accurate with it.

He's faster than Shea. Better arm than Shea. More accurate than Shea. Don;t get why we're fucking around with captain mediocre.

Quinn Nordin make sighting (and hits a 38 yarder), Levy (during this game) and Flowler both said he was injured (BS)

Michigan had missed 5-7 of the last FGs

It's nice to see the return of good old Michigan football. It just sucks our passing game isn't nearly good enough to compete with OSU, and it's been clear even in the last 2 blowouts.

38-7 is your final. You hate to lose a shutout on a kickoff return, but Maryland probably didn't deserve to get shut out.

The offense was really bad today. The defense was weirdly getting pushed around the field for most of the first half. For the most part though, it's what I expected.

It's a win ...... even when you look at the stats, it's a win. M rushed for 155y at 4.8ypc and held Maryland to 96y and 2.6ypg in non-garbage time.

But, I didn't think the offense looked that sharp nor as as good as it did v. ND in much worse weather. The D gave up way too many short yardage plays that kept drives going along with a passel of 4+ yard plays that extended drives both via the interior and occasionally the edge looked weak. Locksley did a good job keeping M's D guessing early and late but in garbage time. So, throws hands in the air.

This isn't a team that can beat osu - not even close. The offense is just too inconsistent and I feel pretty sure that before Brown can make his all too frequent and often impressive adjustments, ryan day will have already engineered a couple of scores to put M behind and in a catch up mode - something Patterson does not do well in.

McCaffrey had the play-calls in to look good but he didn't look any better than Patterson in the couple of aborted drives he had. M's one good, Patterson delivered, TD drive that ended with a walk-in Charbonett run, ONE GOOD ONE, you saw a much more diverse, pass oriented offense that punished Maryland's D for crashing everyone inside. That took too long to implement and the rest was pretty pedestrian if not just downright shitty. Nothing new there. Not a step forward but really maybe a half step back. Disappointed in that.

ABC's (Disney's) productions of Michigan football games are intolerable. I don't know how many plays got run under some cameo or banner that Griese, Levy or the side-line chick were blabbering about. I only saw the Maryland KO return for a TD on replay (I think that might have been a local screw up, but, whatever).

As the game wore on, I get it that it was a blow-out and Maryland fans had long since turned the game off or tuned it out but, again, the cameos and banners, the unrelated blabber, the switch to video of the National's WS win parade was just awful. If you're a fan like I am that really wants to watch how the play sets up, how it's defended and how it unfolds, you simply couldn't do it on this production and that's not the first time I've said that about ABC. Really tight shots, all of them late, disallowed any kind of pre-snap look at the offense or defense.

I think MSU is on the ropes but damn, you never know about these guys. The strength of MSU's team just took a major hit losing Bachie and the offense has just looked bad. Still, I'll be edgy about that game in 2w. I'll be there in person for that one and it better not be bitter cold and windy or accompanied by any rain.

A warm-up for osu in Bloomington after MSU? If the road offense looks like it has in all but a couple of quarters and a couple of decent drives within them, that's a trap game if I ever saw one. IU is ranked 26th in total defense and #38 in ESPN's Power Index through 11/2. They are much improved on D and their O is always scrappy against M and effective out of proportion to their previous games efficiency before meeting M. M is #8. The only good thing is that Brown has seen most of what IU does but M trailed at the half against IU in AA in 2018 and it was a nail bitter the rest of the way. So, I can see an upset being a distinct possibility. I just don't think Harbaugh puts his best teams on the road and it's hard to put a finger on just why that is.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

On the Jeff Buchanan Rose Colored Glasses Scale, I'd give this one about a 6.5 on a 1-10 scale. Without the kickoff return, Locksley's slow down game, keeping it on the ground, made this a close ballgame in the first half. As Jeff noted, way too many short yardage situations converted by the Terps, that failed to get the defense off the field.

But on the rose colored glasses side, its a win, a road win at that, and those never come cheap, and they should not be unappreciated. Also in this category I'd like to place the performance of Aden Hutchinson. This kid gives me hope for the future of this program. A sophomore, and he's beginning to dominate his position. Great job today by the young man. If we can keep him out of the NFL until he graduates, I think he has All-American potential.

I hope Michigan uses the bye week to actually prepare for Sparty. In spite of the wheels coming off over there, this is the only game left on their schedule that has any real meaning for them. They have nothing to lose, and I'd expect to see Dantonio throw anything and everything at us. Best strategy may be to actually take away their passing game, and make Lewerke win it for them with his feet. They have no other real rushing threat, so sit back, play pass defense, and dare him to run. He's going to get beat up if he does.

Thankful for the win, but it could have and should have been better

Regret Giles returning that for a touchdown which allowed Harbaugh to turtle up and be ultra conservative. No killer instinct to attempt to score on every possession. Harbaugh's content even with a slim lead. M is also back to 1-2 personnel on almost every snap with McKeon back full strength, which imo is part of the problem.

Analytics have shown us that 3+ receiver sets is the best to run the ball. The more defenders you bring in the box, the more potential guys who can blow up your run play.

I should note that 3+ receiver sets are overwhelming better to run the ball.
