      • It's another choke in the end. Harbaugh, even in best of times, is a massive choker. Blake O'Neill, OSU 2017, etc. Way to choke'em Jim.

Did anyone honestly think that the mentally soft guys that have never won jack shit were going to finally make a key 50/50 pay? PSU never was in any danger of losing.

        • Excellent moral victory. The best of Harbaughs career.

            • Helluva game. Michigan dominated after sketchy start. Home field advantage (officiating) proved to be the difference. Hamler is fast!

              • The Michigan offense really came into its own in the 2nd half. They started to dominate against a good PSU defense. Patterson played well and we almost tied the game after falling behind by 21. The announcers nailed it -- those quick passes to the edges opened everything up and we were tough to stop. I'd say we're better than PSU, based upon the way we outplayed them after a rocky start and with the home team bias. Wisconsin lost to Illinois. We're right up there with those two teams as 2nd best in the B1G now. Notre Dame and MSU look manageable now.

Yeah, to be fair, they actually were, and got lucky on a dropped TD pass. It's pretty easy, and fun, to fault Harbaugh but the "white out" was pretty grey in the 4th quarter. Michigan might not be what we wanted them to be, but Penn State isn't any better.

                    • Nothing happened in the game to lead me to believe anything different than I did before the game.

They are headed for 7-5 with some luck, with 6-6 being more likely.

Ask OSU fans if Michigan's "moral victories" count. Wear some cotton in your ears because their laughter will be deafening.

Precisely correct. Thankfully I wasn't able to watch the game but I can imagine Harbaugh in the post game presser spouting off about how the offense is hitting their stride. All that mattters is that Harbaugh simply can't beat ranked teams and as someone else pointed out earlier, the powers that be will be encouraged enough by this performance that they'll extend Harbaugh's contract indefinitely.

                        • It's interesting to see the mood of M fans, dispirited after getting avalanched in Madison among 4 other uninspiring wins to go 5-1 on the 2019 season, go all BPONE. The mood was definitely negative going into the PSU game. Virtually no one thought M could win ...... and they didn't. Expectations met. The hate, after this game, maybe not surprising but unwarranted.

If M fans weren't inspired by the comeback performance in what JH was quoted as saying by ABC's side line reporter after the half, "this will be Michigan's finest hour," and it damn well nearly was, save a dropped Bell pass on 4th and goal in the end zone, nothing will inspire them.

Patterson looked sharp running this, probably significantly revamped, Gattis offense and the play calling made sense v. PSU's defense. You can look at the raw stats and be the judge of whether you took anything positive from this game or will continue to hate on the team, Shea Patterson, Don Brown and Jim Harbaugh.

First team to score a rushing TD v. PSU, actually three of them. First team to score more than 14 points against PSU. Held PSU to 283 total yards in their own house, about 1/2 of their season per game average. 26 first downs to PSU's 14, 82 plays to PSU's, 54. One play away from tying the score with about 2 minutes left in regulation and all the momentum.

The difference in this game was big plays made by PSU, 4 of them to be exact, 3 resulted in long TD plays and the 4th made possible by one of those. M had it's share of them but dropped balls proved to be M's undoing both ending potential drives, getting M off schedule and the killer, Bells dropped TD throw. If M doesn't tank after this loss and it might, they'll be a tough out the rest of the way.

Frustrating loss........ among many during Harbaugh's tenure. But he isn't going anywhere. Right guy, right time and who would replace him.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                            Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Not really. Harbaugh is a massive choker, even in the best of times. MSU in '15 -- choke. OSU in '16 and '17 -- choke. FSU, South Carolina -- choke. PSU was never in any legitimate danger of Choke Harbaugh's mentally soft guys suddenly making a deciding play against somebody other than Indiana or Army. Harbaugh still has zero signature wins to his name and that is what he will end his Michigan career with.

Ain't nothing like a good moral victory to renew everyone's spirits. I guess we're Indiana now. "Woooo look at us! We only lost by 7 points!"

As soon as we closed to within 7 points I knew this was coming.
