I believe they are trying to play rivalry games that got canceled. So Indiana vs. Purdue and Minnesota vs. Wisconsin. Not exactly what they promised at the start of the season but I understand wanting to play those games more than a Maryland vs. Minnesota rematch or whatever.

The Big Ten wants to give Iowa an easy win to make their record 7-2, and thus more attractive to the bowl selection committee. Ending the season by beating a "name" in Michigan will artificially pad their win total, and make them more likely to gain a NYD bowl berth.

The only reason Iowa will not score more than 60 points is if Kirk Ferentz is in a good mood.

There is no justifiable reason for these two teams to be matched up like this.

Then why not match up Michigan and Nebraska? Both have similar records and finished in the same spot in their respective divisions. Play the game in Lincoln. Nebraska would win by 2-3 touchdowns, maybe more.

I'm sad for the kids that have Covid, but I'm not disappointed that the game is cancelled. I hope all the kids who are sick will get well quickly.
