If your team gets to the State Finals, you're NOT going to be playing at Ford Field. The MHSAA said today that Ford Field "will not be available".
SO, that means all state final games will be played at outdoor venues on the weekend of December 4-5...

Most Michigan high school sports are getting a late start this fall, and now a new rule will make sure you see sports like you've never seen before.
Lets tally that up, shall we? Players will be wearing a helmet, .. with a mouth guard, covered by a cloth face mask, and the face mask that comes attached to the helmet.
Maybe she will want them to wear oxygen masks next?2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

So they play at the Big House or MSU, not a big deal.
One of the great things about the Michigan HS State Finals has been that they have been held indoors since 1976 when the Silverdome opened. They moved to Ford Field in 2005, I believe. An indoor venue makes the day a much more enjoyable experience for all. Its not like Florida where they can take their playoffs into mid-December and still have 70 degree temperatures in an outside stadium. I feel bad for the kids.
First time a kid gets grabbed by the gaiter and injured I wonder who gets sued..

There is no making sense of anything that is going on wrt B10 football. The things Whitley lists in answering Mike's question, especially the last one (unknowns of C-19/student athlete health) are no reasons at all, well, they are reasons but indefensible.
Imagine a major manufacturing company with billions in revenue each year being fearful of introducing a new product that allows them to remain competitive in a highly competitive market place, say an agile tech company like Apple, Amazon or Alphabet. Reportedly investors have learned that these fears originated among a group of managers worried about liability, unionization and unknowns. First, stock values would plummet prompting the board of directors to start calling in the CEO to ask why their stock holdings, part of their own compensation packages, are now worth 30% less than they were before this news became public. Next, the CEO, to save his ass, fires the pussies and replaces them with innovative managers who have balls.
While it is true, colleges and universities don't act much like global corporations, it is undeniable that they are run by pussies, secure in tenured positions and generally unaccountable, who rose to the top of their fields by seeking consensus among their colleagues. That consensus is usually at the most politically correct level, giving way too much weight to the risk of something bad happening that they will then have to own. That produces safety in mediocrity. They aren't leaders by any stretch of the imagination. They aren't risk takers and they aren't bold. Their decision to not play CFB is based on ignoring COVID facts relevant to it. The decision is entirely indefensible.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Now that we are playing, time to start talking about the actual team again (I know, right?)
Joe Milton has supposedly pulled a 2010 Denard Robinson and by all accounts is way out in front for the starting job. Sounds like he has more drive than Shea Patterson. McCaffrey is rumored to be looking at transferring. Per Michael Spath, Nico Collins is sitting out. That will leave lots of mediocre receivers unless there are some young guys who really step up. I haven't heard whether Mayfield can change his mind, but it seems unlikely.
It sounds like a 7 game season with BCG on December 12. If we get Penn State at home then I could see us going 6-1, with Harbaugh running the table and then getting assraped and humiliated in Columbus again.
