  • Great. An 0-1 start for Coach Ryan Day. 2020 just keeps serving up one adzeshot to choad after another.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • Wrong.

The only challenge that Day will have after beating down Michigan on opening day will be keeping his team interested in the remainder of the season.

With no Michigan waiting at the end of the schedule, what is there to play for?

      OSU 48
      M 10

and that's only if Day eases off the gas in the 3rd quarter.

      • Might not be a season between entire teams getting sick, others going on strike, and Jeff encouraging the rest to go enjoy lengthy sit-down meals in reataurants

          • MSU’s game against Michigan, originally scheduled for Oct. 10 in East Lansing, has been moved up a week to Oct. 3 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. lol

            • I just received this. I think it was released yesterday. It is the conference only B10 schedule. It's a plan, nothing more. I have serious doubts it will happen. What BT school is going to risk the health of student athletes when - uncompensated for their athletic skills and for questionable benefit of - when the pandemic environment is being painted as equivalent to the Black Death of the 14th century.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

              • If that's accurate State fans won't like it. The original schedule had the game at EL. This one flips it to Ann Arbor.

Michigan catches no breaks on travel. At: Minnesota, Rutgers, Indiana, OSU and Northwestern. All of them are a minimum 4-5 hours away by bus. Shorter by air, of course but would they fly to Chicago, Columbus and Bloomington?

I doubt it will matter anyway. If they get half way thru the schedule it will be nothing short of a miracle.

LOL @ the Black Deathrences.. I'm sure that every single personal injury law firm, including UM Regent Bernstein and his "First Family of Law", are gearing up with that sort of mindset. The greatest risk in rolling forward with this plan isn't health, but liability.

I'm waiting to see if Michigan can field a competitive team to begin with. Many parents are saying "not so fast" with regard to playing at all this year. If players start opting-out, will there even be enough left over to field a team?

Yup. The lawyers have found themselves tobacco 2.0. Congress is going to probably have to step in at some point to prevent half of the country’s businesses from going bankrupt.

Well, McConnel and his crowd want to do that as part of the next relief package but the Dems have resisted. A well structured measure that limits companies from COVID related liability is a very good idea.

                            • Part of me obviously wants to be excited at the thought of M and Purdue actually being scheduled to play in 4 1/2 weeks. BUT can you believe this? Seriously doubt a NCAA football season can happen with what is happening to MLB. NCAA appears to have less of a plan.

But yeah... Sept 5th?! Weird feeling to unexpectedly find out that is scheduled. I've been ignoring college football since the pandemic started and don't even know if M has practiced this year. Just expecting there to be nothing this year, so what's the point.

                              • As of today, I think games 1 and 2 have a good chance of being played.

After that, it all depends on how many players/coaches test positive for Covid.

If they have MLB numbers, then the season may be toast. College presidents and state governors will error on the side of safety.

If they have NBA numbers, the season will likely go on, but it will be akin to walking on egg shells.

My guess is that they're probably going to get to around game 3 or 4, and then it will get called off. With all the travel involved, plane rides, hotels, team busses, meals at different places, .. its going to be difficult to eliminate all chances of infection.
