Most folks here were right about M's chances v. osu, i.e., slim to none. That slim changed into a possibility after M's final two games where Patterson had a hot hand. During The Game, M's win percentage went up quite a bit after their first two scores (it was 14/13 at that time), something like from 15% to 40% but then took a dive after Patterson's fumble at the osu 12 ending a TD drive with the score 21/13 at 6:32 left in the half. osu stretched the lead to 28/13 and M settled for a FG to end the half, the score 28/16.
The point is, M came prepared to compete, made enough critical mistakes that caused them to play from behind - something people noted that if osu gets a two score lead, they will switch to a very aggressive D and, to non one's surprise, they did. M was done.
The offense is good enough to keep up with any of the three bowl opponents M might face: Alabama, Auburn or USC. The defense has weaknesses that are exploitable but I don't know that any of the offenses M will face in a bowl combine the running skill of a guy like dobbins with the skill set of fields. It's a unique combo when it's also combined with a coaching staff at osu that is very good at optimizing what their skill players do best.
Bottom line is loser talk is tiresome. I can guarantee you that the players and coaches aren't thinking they can't win the upcoming bowl. Bring it.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. What's interesting to me is that if it's 28-16, then maybe M goes for it on 4th down on their next drive instead of kicking the FG.

If Michigan could be matched up against Texas A&M or Tennessee, it would probably be a better match up for where the talent is on both sides.
Alabama and Auburn both hold a talent advantage which Michigan cannot overcome. Seems to me like Minnesota, Wisconsin or Penn State would be better potential opponents for them.
USC is probably about the same as Tenn and TAMU, but Michigan's record out west is not promising."in order to lead America you must love America"

- DJ Dale (DL) Out indefinitely
- Labryan Ray (DL) Out indefinitely
- Raekwon Davis (DL) high ankle
That's all bad and everything, but we had two real stars at LB, Dylan Moses and Josh McMillon. Dylan was the QB for the D. McMillon was a 1st team all-american type. Just crushing. Filled most of the holes with freshmen.
Throw in Tua, our only TE who can catch a pass, and a very good backup RB, and well, you are 10-2 and possibly heading to the Outback Bowl.

Liney .....I'm really disappointed in you!
Based on what I hear from AA and read about Alabama, without Tua, the classic skill mix present at the QB/RB position just ain't there. Totally different offense that has to rely on Najee with a lesser threat from Jones. How would M's D done v. osu with fields out? Let me think? Better? Waaaay better.
Bama, it looks like to me, correct me if I don't have this right, AA (or talent who knows EVERYTHING!!!!), can be forced to have Mac Jones make plays by selling out to stop Harris. Jones had a great day v. Auburn (except the two picks) he had a career-high 335 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. His 26 (of 39) completions traveled an average of 12.9 yards as he gave his receivers opportunities to make plays after the catch. Auburn's pass D ranks #41. M ranks #5.
It's all about "equating" off the RPO per ufm. Less about beef not to say that's not a factor. M can prevent the run and force Jones to pass ...... theoretically ..... into Brown's, what he calls, doubles coverage (see Neck Sharpies). osu figured out ways to confuse the switches required here so, M has to do better with that if their game plan is to load up on Harris and I think it should be. Saban is no going to have Jones running it, I wouldn't think. He's not built for that and running him might be a high risk play-call.
Anyways, getting ahead of ourselves here. But, Liney, stop the whining.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Michigan loses bowl games. LLLLoyd lost 4 in row row before upsetting FL in his last game, his staff (mostly his staff) were able to completely revamp the offense in less than a month. Why did he wait so so long and his last game - who cares?
Since 2003 only three bowl wins by the program - one by Carr, one by Hoke, one by Harbaugh. Embarrassing!
There will be no stopping Harris with that O-line vs a very small D-Line The team is soft in Bowl games and vs equal or in this case way more talent. Wisconsin all over, probably worse.
