  • You need Penn State to lose twice and Michigan to win out the rest of the Big Ten schedule. That would get them the CC game.
Someone would also have to hang a 2nd loss on OSU. They would go to the CCG with only one in-conference loss, even if we were to beat them (LOL)

    • It always cracks me up to view the Jeff Buchanan emotional rollercoaster.

      • It's better than a minstrel show. Not as a good as M*A*S*H reruns.

            • So there's a report out there saying that Jim is strongly looking at leaving Michigan at the end of the season to return to the NFL. Don't know how credible it is.

              • I don't know who we'd hire, and we'd probably end up with our generals fighting the last war as Harbaugh regains his footing in a league better suited to his kind of offense. But I've also yet to see evidence that what he's doing here is going to work.

                  It's not credible.

Ed-Seth: This "scoop" is pretty laughable. I'm leaving it so it won't get posted again. Harbaugh's NFL agent has floated him around to gullible reporters in the past to try to gin up interest in a client he's getting nothing for as long as he's in college. But if you think Jim Harbaugh would be "eyeing an exit strategy" during the football season you really don't know the first thing about Jim Harbaugh]

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Frankly, I put an end to it after Iowa. There was just no sense in being emotionally invested in Michigan football, especially the current brand of it, to the extent I have been for the good part of 40 years. So, I watch the games with interest at this point. Nothing more, nothing less.

Seth only needs to go back to the Michigan courtship to know that's exactly what Jim Harbaugh is about. The whispers and laughable rumors started in mid-December while he was coaching the Niners.

                        • Seth's reaction was totally credible until the last sentence. If Seth is sure he knows the first thing about Jim Harbaugh, he might want to double-check that, or stress-test the premise.

Yes, there were "rumors" about Harbaugh but when they first started appearing, no one with any inside information thought Harbaugh was going to not only leaf SF but leave the NFL entirely to go back to coaching college ball.

The "courtship," as you call it, by M was indeed underway but no one knew about it until sometime after Christmas when Hackett, along with Dolphin's owner and M alumni donor, Stephen Ross, made a trip to CA and they were spotted in a restaurant. Within a week, actually on the 29th, Michigan officially announced Harbaugh as thenew football HC.

Leading up to that point were strongly supported rumors that SF's front office (GM, Baalke and CEO York) had had it with JH and JH had had it with them. SF had tried to trade Harbaugh to Cleveland a year earlier but that deal never went throughA bunch of teams, most seriously the Raiders but also the jets, Atlanta and Chicago were doing the heavy duty courting of Jim Harbaugh.

My take is that Harbaugh wasn't shhopping around while he was under contract with SF, never played games with M or had his agent run around to different teams trying to arm twist M or NFL Team managers/owners to give Harbaugh what he wanted. Harbaugh was going to get the boot from SF. The biggest question before it was made official by M that he was going to be their HC, was what NFL team was going to get him and how stupid the 49'ers front office was to get rid of him.

I think Seth's take where he implies Harbaugh doesn't need to play games and more importantly he rather dislikes that sort of thing is fairly accurate. Therefore it's inaccurate to hypothesize, like the linked article does, that he's looking to leave Michigan. The timing is perfect for an article like that and like so many scoops turn out to be they are scoops taking a bet that what the scoop is selling will turn out to be true.

                              • So here's the rumor :...

Harbaugh is going to resign if he loses to OSU again. He has a deal with Steven Ross to become the next HC of the Dolphins. Harbaugh is leaving because he doesn't like being hamstrung by recruiting and he feels he can't be 'who he is' with the way NCAA rules are now.

Now, who's going to be Michigan's next coach?

                                Tom Brady.

He's selling his house in Mass. ... and his trainer is selling HIS house in DC.... after all he can't come to Michigan without his trainer ....

His wife was seen in a local coffee shop in Boston this week, and as she was walking in, she was holding a Real Estate guide of the Ann Arbor area.

How can it be anything else?

                                Bank on it.
