He left because he was very curious about the NBA but also because he was increasingly frustrated with the NCAA. I'm sure he'll get offers, and maybe some very attractive ones. Don't know that he'll take any of them. There's also the very mysterious circumstances in which his son took the job at Niagara and suddenly resigned a few months later. Something may be going on within the family that he might decide takes priority. Hard to know.
Sure would hate to see him back in the Big Ten though.

I hope he just retires and gets out of basketball completely. He's had some health issues, and I'd like to see him focus on himself and his family. I'd like to see a "John Beilein Day" at Crisler Center where the school and the fans can properly say thank you and honor him for what he did for Michigan Basketball. He's got the most wins in Michigan basketball history, and he deserves a proper thank you."in order to lead America you must love America"

I like the idea of naming the court after Beilein. Purdue has done the same thing with Gene Keady.
Off subject for a second, I'd like to see the softball field change the name from Alumni Field, to Carol Hutchins Field, and do it while she's still coach. She deserves it."in order to lead America you must love America"

Much better. And looking like the team we saw early in the season. Gosh man that was scary when Livers came up limping on Sunday.
Would be great of they could steal a game or two that they're not supposed to win but I think if they hold serve and win the rest of the games that they're favored in that they'd be in the tournament.AAL: KhaDarel Hodges

And the decision was also bad because he had a job at Michigan where he was firmly in control. He could have stayed as long as he liked, and probably chosen his successor. He was well loved by his players and the fans.
Maybe the money that the NBA was willing to throw at him got his attention, .. I dunno.
NBA players are like little children at the dinner table. If you don't cater to their every whim, they're going to make everyone around them miserable.
I wish him well, but I don't look forward to facing any team that hires him."in order to lead America you must love America"
