UNC is up 5 at the half vs. #11 Oregon in the 3rd place game.

    • Both games they've won in this tourney have featured one of those seniors in foul trouble and playing limited minutes. I have to give Juwan at least partial credit for having the younger players ready to step into bigger roles. Eli Brooks being the biggest MIP thus far, with DDJ just a tick behind. Johns still has to get comfortable on offense but he's shown good ability in getting rebounds in traffic and I liked what I saw out of Castleton yesterday, as well.

        • What a fucking response.

gonzaga does what Gonzaga does, claws the lead down to 3, and Michigan immediately punches back to go up 12. Teske and Simpson again the stabilizers.

              • The basketball team looks like they might be pretty good this year. Looks like the transition costs have been kept to a minimum.

                  • Juwan Howard is a class dude. Looks like a good hire.

                    • I am hopeful that recruits are taking notice. The style of game is fun, and he is getting the guys to buy in and perform. Still early, but this looks like a great hire.

                        • Wow. I never saw that one coming.

                          Good job, guys.

Time to stick a "L" on Louisville ...

                              • Roy Williams said in his post-game presser that Michigan runs more screens now, then they did last year with Beilein. I'm not in to basketball-ese, but I'm thinking that's a good thing?

Kstat makes a good point. We saw a lot of times last year when Poole and Iggy would take the 3 just because they had a good look, only to see it clang off the rim.

They seem to have a good mix with veterans and new guys, and also with outside shooters, and big bodies that can go inside when needed.

I think both Teske and Simpson have played themselves into the NBA first round. Livers may not be far behind.
