I think, for now, that's a fair take.
.........jumps on the Hannibal doubt train.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

HARBAUGH!!!! finally has his own players. He won 9.5 games per year with Hoke's hot trash. There is no way in god's green earth he wins less than 9 this year. 12-1 and going to the CFP seems about right.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Sure losses right now
Army
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Likely Losses
@Penn State/@ Wisconsin
I see 9-3 as the best possibility. More likely 8-4 and could be 7-5 with a touch of bad luck.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

Sure agree with you that it will be hitting the fan and should with a loss to Army but ......... getting a win depends on what offense, tentative and unsure, or confident balls to the wall M shows up with. Installing new offenses doesn't often go well in year one even though it's being said its evolutionary change not revolutionary.
Army finished 19th in the polls, 10th in total defense (SOS 97th so, there is that).
Army is hard to play because they are a possession team and like Hanni said, it could be an 8 possession game for M and that is how Army wins big games .... holding the ball on long drives.
Obviously, the key to winning this game is to stop the kind of option ball Army plays. But M has to go for it and keep the pedal to the floor. That's not in Harbaugh's DNA or at least we've not seen that since he arrived. Methodical would be my description of him up until now and that is not a great way to play modern CFB IMO. M can lose to Army playing that way. Remains to be seen what kind of impact Gatis has on mitigating Harbaugh's tendencies to turtle.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. No talent at RB outside of a true freshman. New OC possibly running a scheme that is completely incompatible with the head coach. Immensely talented but underachieving receiving corps. A few massive holes on defense (Long, Winovich, Bush) to fill.

Sorry, but if Army comes up to A2 and leaves with a W, Harbaugh should just leave with them "to pursue other opportunities".
The "chicken little" expectations around this team are frustrating as hell. They do have merit, however, and we can expect them to persist until they prove that they can play a full season without mentally folding in the face of adversity.
I can see them collapsing to ND or PSU or sparty. Even Iowa or Wisconsin. But Army? No.
