He hit some big throws and missed some. He was a known quantity, what he did didn't reach expectations but he was close.

This system isn't a great fit for him, also have to give him credit for the big plays he earned in the read option in the middle of the season.

Patterson is fine, he did good but he doesn't have a big arm, he's a decent runner but not a burner and he is small. I expected some skill that stuck out.

Mattison was be 70 years old he had a big contract leftover as DC from Hoke's days...In order for the football budget to work he may have needed to keep him on staff as an overpaid DL coach instead of firing him. It may have been time to re up his contract, but he probably took it personally when the new pay as a DL coach was a lot less than what his previous contract was.

Scenario 1: Greg Matiison leaves for OSU, Don Brown stays and promotes Al Washington to DL coach.

Scenario 2: Don Brown leaves for Temple, Washington goes with him or to OSU, Greg Mattison takes over as DC at MIchigan.

Scenario 3: Don Brown leaves for Temple, Washington goes with him or to OSU, Mattison leaves/retires, DJ Durkin returns as DC.

Scenario 4: New DC who hires his own staff. (Durkin and Brown are overrated. Mattison's best days are behind him).
