  • UFM has lost what 3 B10 games? Why so many thought Michigan was really going in there and stomping osu is beyond me. I wanted to be pleasantly shocked, but was not going to put myself through 2016 again, the game was on downstairs - I seen the score 3 times taking my dog out.

We're back to later Lloyd 8-9-10 wins and beat MSU 3/4 times lose to OSU. That is still way better than RR/Hoke days. I like Harbaugh and still don't like Carr.

      • I think JH gets it right eventually. I wish it wasn't going to take so long. It's taking longer than anyone thought, including probably most of the OSU program. This season was meaningful progress, brought on by meaningful staff changes. I'm looking for more of the same next year. I don't know that it's staff changes that are the most important thing, but JH has thus far shown his ability to diagnose problems and address them. Though in a slower and more-stubborn way than is ideal.

        • I don't know. Can he get a lot of players like Daxton Hill? Because that's what it will take to compete with OSU. He came in riding a wave of optimism, and it helped in recruiting two good classes, but now he's looked upon as a failure by many around the country. Michigan lost yesterday because they couldn't match up with Ohio at key positions. Harbaugh is not going to change his defensive coordinator, Don Brown gets bltzkrieged by opponents who have more than a few good athletes on offense. I highly doubt he'll change the offense either, though recruiting and developing o-linemen with Warriner would help tons, But why can't he find play makers for his offense? Because it's plodding and boring. I'm wondering if Warde Manuel would fire a coach who wins 8-10 games a year but can't beat OSU.

          • Talent is good enough (except OT) to compete with everyone but the CFP programs. Could use more talented depth (DB, OL) which might be a year or two away depending on early entries.

Coaching was a major issue yesterday, not just on defense. Would like to hear input from a few people I know about both the offensive and defensive game plans.

            • It looked as though, as froot loops said, the Michigan staff and players believed they were going to win and didn't need to do anything differently. When the Ohio State defense didn't fall down and give up chunks of yardage, Pep just assumed they would eventually and stayed with the plan. Where were all of the QB runs Patterson ran so well against Penn St.?

The defense looked freaking shell shocked. Once they realized they couldn't get to Haskins and couldn't cover those underneath routes, they knew it was game over. Credit Wilson and Day. They found the right match ups and never stopped exploiting them. There was nowhere for Brandon Watson to hide. It was like last year's Penn State game when either Metellus or Kinnel couldn't cover the slot. Joe Moorehead kept going to the well, and Don Brown had no answer.

Harbaugh needs to put a priority on speed in recruiting. I hope Charbonnet sticks with his commitment, because there are just some guys coming back at RB next year and Eric Gray looks to be Tennessee bound.

              • The talent is adequate for the occasional upset of OSU and for winning 3 out of 4 against MSU. The problem is the coaches. They are a worthless piile of shit and and Jim Harbaugh is Urban Meyer's bitch. The fact that they still have jobs today is appalling. Any self respecting program should have zero tolerance for the disaster that we saw yesterday. It is a symptom of major problems within the program. In my book, that is grounds for automatic dismissal. It was no better than the performance by the teams on OSU's schedule who have far less talent. How did PSU hold them to under 30? Their defense is not elite. How did Purdue beat them by 20? Elite 5 star athletes on defnese? Michigan State stymied them for most of their game. Do they have 5 star athletes at every position? Isn't it funny how all of these mismatches just magically show up when OSU plays Michigan? The same thing happened two years ago in Ann Arbor when OSU's struggling offense magically hit their stride when they played us. Funny how that keeps happening, isn't it? It's uncanny. It's almost as if Harbaugh sucks. Is Pep Hamilton the problem? Jedd Fisch was no genius either. His offense couldn't do shit against OSU. The problem isn't the coordinators. It's Harbaugh.

This game will be a stain on every single person who is associated with the program for the rest of their lives. It will never wash away and there is nothing that will ever forgive it. This ranks up with Appalachian State when it comes to the disgrace that it has brought to the program. I sincerely hope that Harbaugh is on the hot seat going into next year. If he loses The Game next year then they should change the locks on his office as soon as the game is over. We can hire any bum off the streets to embarrass the program repeatedly. We don't need to pay a guy $8 Million a year to do that. The only way that Harbaugh ever beats OSU is if Meyer is gone and they screw up the hire of the next guy. Otherwise, he is never winning. Absolute 100% guaranteed.

In the meantime, get your excuses ready for the bowl game loss, folks.

Lost one B10 home game in 7 years? Michigan as the favorite was ridiculous. Maybe why so many M fans are upset. In reality nobody (Sparty once) beats Meyer in the shoe, nobody

                  • Still down with a non displaced hairline outer ankle fracture. I watched the game, and still am way down about it. Maybe someone can give me a ray of hope but this is how I see it right now.

                    1) This is not a rivalry any more. Michigan Football is Ohio State's bitch. I don't know what is going to change in a year or even 5 years. The way things stand right now Michigan is light years away from competing into the CFP. Light years.

                    2) The only way that Michigan gets shot at anything is when Urban retires. Even then I think it is a slim shot because OSU has SEC ethics and whoever the Football HC is will get whatever he wants as long as he wins. It will be a primo job so I doubt they make a bad hire.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

                    • I think JH is going to grind his way there. It'll take far too long, with every needed change coming 2 years too late, but he'll get one.

                          • So there is basically no hope?

Even Purdue, NW, Iowa beat them more often.

I don't see the talent differential being significant like it was last season (QB, OL, wr) or like it's been since '06. M should've been in the game and I put most of that on the defensive coaching staff and ultimately that works it way up to Harbaugh!!!!

                            • IMO the problems are knowable and the fixes predictable. Take a more standard approach to having an offensive coordinator; understand the exception to the rule that you can solve your problems with aggression. We've seen the ability to diagnose a problem on the OL and find a fix. A year too late, but found nonetheless. So, as far as I can see, there's a pattern of fixing problems later rather than sooner. I think there's a lot more evidence suggesting that's the best course than there is that he should be fired. It's not a matter of whether he's the right coach or the wrong. He's no Meyer or Saban, but he's still a pretty damn good coach.
