    • Don Brown looked like he had not watched any tape of the buckeyes all season. They didn't do anything remotely surprising. Defending crossing routes by playing man coverage was as big of a disaster as it usually is.

Brandon Watson is what he is, he had no business trying to defend those skill players one on one...

      Two point conversions? Smh...

Shea looked very good despite the terrible INT, Steuber was very overmatched replacing JBB. His UFR will look like Runyans vs the Irish. Shea was always having to run for his life and always had multiple defenders coming at him. We knew the OL wasn't quite ready for an elite DL and JBB was injured in the Indiana game...

Offense looked pretty good when not running into 8 men in the box on first down. Would love to see the spread Harbaugh talked of last off season but this is still very much a team that wants to run the ball, even after they've failed.

      • Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

          • It was obvious early in the third quarter Brown was in over his head on how to defend those crossing routes.

              • The bad:

Crossing routes and Brandon Watson trying to cover Olave. O-line was horrible - couldn't run the ball; couldn't protect. Shea throwing short hops to receivers, SPEED Killed. D-line got no pressure on Haskins. Zach Gentry's hands.

                The good:

DPJ and Nico Collins.Penalties called on OSU.

Still an obvious talent gap. Devi Gil, Brandon Watson, Tru Wilson, Tyree KInnel, Jordan Glasgow would not make OSU's roster.

                      • Coaching aside, this is a recruiting problem. Brandon Watson was a Hoke recruit. He was never fast, and I don't think he slowed down any in the off-season. He's a 5th year guy, who really isn't very talented. His other offers were from Boston College, Connecticut, Rutgers and Temple. He has contributed this season, but why the hell is he our 3rd CB? we have Long and Hill and a young Ambry Thomas, but where are the other top CB recruits? OSU sends a couple of CB and Safeties to the NFL every year. OSU recruits speed. They've been doing it ever since UM arrived. We recruit guys who may potentially be able to be an honorable mention Big Ten player - Daxton Hill notwithstanding.

                        • Did Watson get an offer from Rutgers?

They held OSU to fewer poimts than we did.

Exactly. I've seen more than just a few posts that seem to attribute one of the primary reasons for the scope of this loss to a talent deficit. Bullshit! Brady Hoke had lesser teams where he at least won 1 game and his worst loss was only by 14 points. This is the second time Harbaugh had his ass handed to him by 20 points or more. This was a catastrophic failure that lands squarely on the backs of the coaches. I've been watching this matchup for the better part of 50 years now and I can't recall a team that looked so ill prepared emotionally to play a game of this significance. Add to that the worst defensive game plan I've ever seen and a predictable, plain vanilla offense that made it too easy for the OSU defense to apply pressure.

                            • Word out of camp was that guys had gotten bigger and stronger without losing speed, Did they measure their speed? Long and Hill are enough against most teams. Watson got exposed today because OSU has more than two fast wide receivers. And why the hell did we take Devin Gil - package deal with Bush? He's too small and slow versus elite talent.

Yeah, no way OSU let off the gas on Rutgers. They poured it on for the committee today - and because it was Michigan.
